Ogier, it’s so a humble and kind man. met him once and he really take the time to react on questions that fans where asking. Even when I understand that so many people around the world want to talk with Ogier about his Rally performances and other questions. But to take always the time for that things. It’s says a lot about the person. I wish him the best in Monte-Carlo, and it’s really cool to have you’re personal edition of the GR Yaris. Bless you 🙏

Thanks for this, such a nice little edit/review. Love Ogier as a driver and human. Of course, any GR Yaris is forbidden fruit here in the states, however I think I could do without one kidney and one testicle to have a crack at one of these limited run specials!!!

I`d like see Ogi and Kalle driving their signature models, as Kalle has some strange drifting mode in it.
I truly appreciate Toyota for the extensive tests they take their cars, thrashing them, even by their own CEO and learn from their mistakes and actually make a better car. Fn amazing.
I hope the manual will still be an option for normal GR Yaris.
The car is still coming with a manual as standard.
The new 8AT is optional, alongside the rally-style handbrake placement.

Hehe that is just the "special show model", its available in precious metal (the gray one), emotion red, precious black, platinum white and pearlescent white. Well I say that, but to be able to customize it to your liking people need to get in on it right now (before April I think). I ordered mine in pearlescent white MT

Since I am planning to change from my 2021 GR Yaris to the new Automatic face-lift model. I hope these special editions come to the UK since they are planned for Europe.

If you want one, make sure to get on the order list before april this year or the waiting game is going to be off the chart. I ordered my Gen 2 last week, my dealership in the Netherlands had three on order only because the manager is friends with people on the Gazoo Racing development team. Mind you an estimated 3/15 for the Netherlands, this one is even more limited than the OG GR Yaris. So best get on that ASAP

If you listened carefully he said “I drove it yesterday for the first time and i was quite positively surprised” all the while he was pulling a very “meh” expression on his face which speaks more than the words he said. (Toyota is his employer he’s not going to downplay their new product) and the Japanese engineer in another video stated the auto was “to help people who can’t drive a manual get to experience the car”
If you know how to drive a manual properly then on almost 90% of open roads it will be quicker.
@@mikeormond7883 What the hell do you mean by a "manual". The Gazoo Racing Yaris WRC has a crash sequential racing gearbox, why because its faster than a "manual".

I have the first version and love it. I must say this new model has some great improvements but I don't like the 1980's Cadillac Allante Dashboard.
only 200 is abit of a kick in the cock....... by the time iv saved up for one it will be more expensive to buy...... could have done 2500 like old school homologation...... still, nice bit o kit!!
The 200 off is just the Ogier edition. The original car had a build quantity of 25000
200 cars is just for the Ogier/Rovanpera special edition. The rest of the trim is business as usual.
Because of GR Yaris' unprecedented success by being sold for far more than the required 25,000 cars to be sold for homologation (they sold 32k), Toyota has decided that the GR Yaris will no longer be a limited run model and they will continue producing more GR Yaris in the future.
@@AbrahamArthemius I'm fairly sure modern cars don't have homologation rules anymore or they are way more lax as in any of the Yarises sold count towards the homologation. GR Yaris was at first done of necessity and now it's just because it's nice.

These guys use whatever is faster for them. In this case, Ogier is just being neutral during a corporate press release and hyping the auto transmission up so the lethargic 60+ year old boomers don't feel so about for buying the wrong option. Rally drivers are familiar with a manual sequential box with a clutch and they know that is ensures peak performance for them and is able to endure the stress from the drivetrain.

The auto is not better. Screw the auto.
Why did they make the front bumper/grill so much uglier? It was so great as before. They improved the car in terms of performance and usability, but made it uglier. That infotainment system design is a joke. He looks so ugly. It might be more practical, but at least don't make it look like from a car from the 60s.
The technology in this car is great but it’s still an ugly bike on 4 wheels. It screams Toyota and that has never been hot in the past decades.
