Using a sickle mower to cut Goldenrod

Using the 9ft Enrossi Sickle Mower & the Kubota M7060 to cut down the Goldenrod on the edge of the pastures before they start to flower.
I believe this is the "Solidago nemoralis ssp. nemoralis" variety of Goldenrod.
Nasty, invasive stuff!!!

I had a couple fields with that in it. They owners offered the field for hay use free of charge but it took 2 years to clean it up with out herbicides. Some of the round bales looked like they were full of sticks when we fed them out. NASTY STUFF!!!

Cheers! How did you get rid of it? Just by cutting it down all the time? The issue around here is, although I try and manage it as much as possible (like in this video), the neighbors don't. Goldenrod is spreading like crazy around here. There's literally 'Goldenrod fields' around here, where no one cuts it down at all. As much as I try and control it, I think the seeds are just blowing over from all around us. And I know what you mean when you say 'sticks'. We sadly have some bales with goldenrod in it, and it's always frustrating to see all the left-over 'sticks'.
I hate to say it, but I am considering using 2,4-Dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D) this year. That would probably mean I won't be able to sell the hay to horsey people, as they don't like herbicides. Can't say I blame them! 😕 😕 😕
