    Echo was hoping for an endorsement, rather than an ad for the Oregon Gator line. I’m sure they’re thrilled with this.

      Ah yes, and yet others will say I’m a shill just saying good things about products that are sent to me. I’ve always said that if you want a truly honest review regardless of whether the product was provided or not then watch my videos. The good companies are the ones that take the feedback and improve the product like ECHO did with black diamond trimmer line if you watch the video I did about a year after this one. Thanks for watching.

    I was using the rotary brand line this year and loved the cut and found similar results as you. The Gator line is a durable cutting monster and holds up to cement and chainlink pretty well. The rotary shredded much faster and I felt I was spending at least 2x the reloading with the rotary. Although The rotary was very forgiving around the vinyl fences.

    the black diamond 95 does burn faster, but the cut quality is just _too_ good for me to care. it isn't expensive, a spool in the high capacity speed feed head lasts at least a few days, and the time saved in trimming is invaluable.

    • @LawnCareBusinessSuccess
      @LawnCareBusinessSuccess  Před 6 lety +1

      kodiak wild That’s great! That’s why I made it a point to say I have seen other reviews of the .095 that people were extremely happy with. It’s all just personal opinion, and a lot of it depends on what your use to using. For me the Oregon gator line cuts great and is super durable so anything else I use will need to compare to that for me. Also as I mentioned in the video the .105 is very comparable to the Oregon gator in terms of durability and I have been pleased with it and would recommend that size over the .095 for Black Diamond.

I took it over to show her and boy did I get a view.... right down her bikini. She noticed and as she was jumping in the pool after our conversation threw the top off and said this is for using Black Diamond line and for taking care of my lawn.... hubba hubba

    I feel the same about the 0.095 line. I was surprised just how much it would bog my engine down having the same amount out as I do the Gatorline. I had heard before I got some that it was supposed to be lighter and would allow more line out but not in my case. I could only run about the same amount out. I like the Black Diamond, but I kind of dont at the same time. Just a little less durable than the Gatorline or Stihl line.

  • @2010stoof

    Just bought an 805' spool of this. Hope I didn't get 2 year old old spool lol.
    The red echo wasn't working for me.
    But I was looking online and found for the same price HD has the small pack like you got, I can order 805' of .095 to my Lowes. Same price
    Will try this weekend. Alot to buy to try, but it would have cost same amount to try the smaller pack.
    Hope I like it!!! Lol
    I did load it in my 225. And even though you said it breaks easily, I couldn't get it to cut on the guard blade lol. I had to spool it in 2 more clicks. Just kept whacking the blade.

    • @LawnCareBusinessSuccess
      @LawnCareBusinessSuccess  Před 3 lety

      Sounds like you got a good deal. Sometimes if you leave the line too long it flops around instead of being able to straighten out as it hits the guard. On my speed feed 400 head it’s takes exactly 3 full arm lengths of mine from finger tip to finger tip as both arms are spread out to the sides. So as I pull it off the spool I just measure three full arm lengths from finger tip to finger tip and it loads perfectly and until it can’t take anymore and has just the right length to be cut off by the guard. Thanks for watching.

    I just bought a SRM 2620 it came with Black Diamond line in it and it out performed the line in my old trimmer by a huge margin especially if I'd bump a chain link fence he echo line just kept on going w/o breaking where the other line would break constantly having to bump out more line. I'm researching what the best line is and finding out there isn't really a "best" line...too many factors involved.

    Hands on experience the last few days, and I got to say honestly this echo black diamond is a waste of money, I went though a whole spool on my weed eater in no time kept just breaking, it might be ok to use if your just going to cut butter are something like that, but it sure will not hold up here on the banks i have to weed eat off. So put my cheap line back on and finished all the banks without having to change the spool

    Best trimmer lines are those old mono filament fishing lines from longliners; of diameter 1.5mm, 2.0mm, 2.4mm, 2.7mm, 3.0mm etc. My personal preference for my 35cc machine is 2.4mm. Trust me when I say these used fishing lines are the best and better still they are free from the fishing boats.

      @@LawnCareBusinessSuccess believe me when I tell you that those fishing lines are extremely durable and extremely hard wearing. They usually are CUT when they contact broken glass or similarly sharp edges. Otherwise, they continue to cut grass and weeds to satisfaction. They are usually free because they are actually trash from the boats.

  • @MishaDaBear
    @MishaDaBear Před 6 lety +3

    The 0.095 is too lite weight, it makes me feel like the line is close to out :( I've used round, square, star, the twist, but my favorite is the triangular Rino-Tuff (Yellow)
    0.095 in Heavy Duty Trimmer Line, it trims excellently, lasts well and packs more line on the spool. I'm using that on an ECHO SRM-225 straight shaft, nicknamed the "baby" trimmer from ECHO.
    With the ECHO speed-feed head I can refill in less than 30 seconds so refill time is no real issue.

    • @LawnCareBusinessSuccess
      @LawnCareBusinessSuccess  Před 4 lety +1

      Sounds like it may either be old stock of the first version of this line or it too dry. As I mentioned in the video when it first came out everyone complained about it breaking easily. Echo put out a new version about a year later that was much improved and does not break easily. On the other point, the one thing you can try is to soak the line in water overnight. Supposedly that makes it less brittle and is recommended by all trimmer line manufacturers. Thanks for watching.

      But the diamond isn't really suitable for Texas. I have to beat down centipede grass, behia grass which can be especially a pain in the ass in East Texas around fence lines. This really isn't commercial grade echo string but is works really well with my 225 PASVP. I didn't see the need in but commercial grade string since I only mow neighbors yards close to my home and their yards aren't that bad. I just got tired of goid through new mowers and weed eaters every 4yrs or less so I bought the Toro personal pace Super Recycler black edition with the Honda engine which is a commercially/residential lawn mower with commercial parts and then bought the Echo 225 PASVP and expect longer life over 10 yrs. Love both and the edge trimmer attachment for my echo and how my Toro gets the job done with professional quality. But I won't be spending $900.00 again when these finally do bite the dust because the only reason I was able to buy those 2 were from my stimulus. Im on disability and live on a low income but side mow to make extra monthly. Basically I've had to buy cheaper quality equipment over the years before I couldn't afford the luxury of a more commercial quality product. Its sad to say this but 30 yrs ago you could walk into a Walmart and buy a $100.00 mower and get 10 or better years out of them, not any more.
