Awesome tutorial. I was trying to figure out how to splice into the high beams to link the led bar to it. I didn’t realise it came with a piggy back switch. Cheers mate !
Also advise is that if your car is going for a roadworthy in Victoria this is not legal, the spot light has to be wired into your high beams so when you turn them off, there off and not forgotten on a separate switch :)
Actually you shouldn’t do this in my opinion. Have it on a separate wire and switch. So that if you’re driving down the highway you can turn off the light bar as soon as you see another car light. Then when you turn it off you still have your high beams on so you can still see a little bit until you get closer then shut ur high beams off. Because you are not allowed to use light bars on normal roads or highways. Meant to only be used off-road only. But if you turn the light bar off immediately then it’s not a problem for the other driver. Because the light bars are a lot brighter than you think when you’re the one coming towards it
How wide is the bit for the licence plate I am from the UK and my licence plate is around 50cm wide or will it not matter and just make new holes in the bumper and number plate?
@@MyRandomLife247 thanks for the reply and yeah I thought that too but my number plates screws are way wider and I don't know how else I would fit a light on don't want to go drilling holes ahah
I have a 96 galant and instead of buying new headlights I'm thinking on just installing this lightbar, I can't see a thing with the stock ones!, thing is, is this legal because they are really bright!
Awesome tutorial MRL, thank you for pointing out dramas or niggles you had, so many people leave out any troubles they encounter. A decent light bar by the looks. I’m looking at getting something for my Ford Mondeo and this seems like it would do nicely. I don’t need anything that’s going to cost 1K or more, nor do I need to see 2km down the road Since installing, have you encountered any jiggles from the bracket or any wiring issues since installing and were you able to sort out the headlight dust cover?
Hi mate, I sold the car two years ago. But in that time the only issue I had was condensation within the lightbar. It’s still on the car to this day :)
Just a question did you not have to ground the harness anywhere? I've seen other tutorials that say you need to ground the harness. Yours is by far the best tutorial I've found but it raises that grounding question for me though. Cheers 👍🏿
Question: Mounting the bracket, did you screw in to the metal behind the bumper, or just screw through the plastic? Cheers. I have a VE, about to mount something similar.
hey mate just came across your video got universal mount from supercheap and 20” light bar to fit on my au falcon problem with the front bar it’s curved and sloped I think in wa our plates are a little wider as had to drill extra holes in mount to line up but when screwing on with plate and screws that were holding plate on it pushes opposite side back out any suggestions?
Hey I installed a number plate light bar on my Vy from kings, and I piggy backed it onto the globes so that it connects to my high beams. Exept it’s not going on when I put my high beams on. It works of the switch purely and can turn on when the car is off. Would you have any idea on it? Cheers any help would be much appreciated
Will the harness work without plugging it into the high beam/ headlights? Im not using it in Australia anyway so I can turn my LED bar without using the head lights.
@@jankennethreyes584 you can wire one just on a switch without buying a harness but it's easier to just buy a harness hook up the positive and negative to you battery and the same to your light bar and then just put the switch on your dash
Its allot better than factory lighting lol I got a Big Red BR9110 www.tjmperth.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/narva-big-red-led-light-bar.png it's great for the bike .
Doesn’t look like there’s any more room for anything in there but for me I wouldn’t like the battery sitting right there. It bothers me a little. I have reasons but you can go all day not knowing those. I’m just sayin bad spot for a battery. 🔋
I brought a STEDI 42" lightbar because they have actually done research into their tech and they have covers that divert the led light forwards in a spot beam so you can see 1 kilometer down the road. Never buy cheap Ebay shit because it's just glue as many led lights on it as possible with out any knowledge of led's and it's just a very short distance bright light. I choose STEDI every time because they have great prices and they provide everything you need in the kit.
Lol my eBay light bar put out well over 1km on light and have been on the car for 2 years... the trick is not just buy "ebay shit" have a look and compare a few items. I'd never heard of STEDI until a few months ago and I've been doing fine... All depends on what money you have and how long you want to wait
nice, im getting one for my adventra now
Thank u very much for sharing a nice and useful video, love from India.

Nice mate. I love my light bar on my Navara.
They are great for safety!~
have you got a vid for the installation mate? ive just received a light bar yesterday for my navara and planning on install it myself

What car have you got?
what is the white wire going to the switch?
Sorry mate I have no idea I did this like 5 years ago and sold the car ages ago.

Not too sure mate. Pretty hard to diagnose over the internet and I also sold this car close to 3 years ago
@@MyRandomLife247 all good cheers mate
Great diy cuz
Thanks man!
I know this is a silly question but will this bullbar/light at fit on a vt commodore sedan?
It’s universal mate
Does this obstruct the air bag sensors in case of crash. I mean it's protruding outward ryt
Yeah but there’s more than one shock sensor on the car plus if this were a massive issue, people wouldn’t be putting bull bars and nudge bars on cars.
Is the brightness be thesame when i put the negative wire on any metal part of the car or putting the negative wire on battery is better
John Imperial it’s exactly the same because the negative of the battery is connected to the metal of the car
Tnx
Can the pate holder hold the led light bar? I hinks its heavy…
Seems to be fine
Hey mate, would only 2 screws for the light bar number plate mount be secure enough?
Maj yeah mate should be fine as long as the light bar isn’t too heavy.
I don’t know why they didn’t tap into the plug on the back of the headlight housing
PLH?
Will the harness work without plugging it into the high beam/ headlights? Im not using it in Australia anyway so I can turn my LED bar without using the head lights.

Did you use a plug and play wiring harness? What vehicle is it?
Same 🙄😂 what was the fix mate?
Turn your high beams off. If it’s a h4 plug there is only one way it can go on.
Can i test the light bar on the outlet
Like a wall outlet? Mate you do what you want. I’m not responsible!!!!
Just get to the installation
Just skip to the install mate. Some people want to see all the nitty gritty. I didn’t make the video just for your needs!
Can I connect it with low beam
Yeah you can but depends on the car and your countries regulations
How has the bar held up and lightbar?.
I sold that car but it held up well right until I sold it. Only issue was the lightbar got a bit of condensation on the inside!
Righto cool i just ordered a plate bar from ebay for 20 bucks gonna chuck some spotties on it since we already have a lightbar.
Can i put 40 amp relay? On 540 watts
John Imperial depends on what the wiring can handle!
Yeah this one waaay better
