    actually the correct way to minimize bubbles is to peel one end to expose the sticker abd fold back the backing. line up the sticky edge then stick and rub flat on the surface. then while using the other hand to pull the remaining backing and then the other hand to rub it down. just like how they install large format stickers.

    Do you seal it with anything to prevent the foil from getting rubbed off?

    So how do I laser engrave? What product do I buy or what computer soft wear do I use? I etch glasses now with an acid base cream but am looking to expand into some new ideas. I have no idea what a laser engraver can or can not do and what one to buy. If you can help at all that would be amazing.

      +Lynn Eschbacher I would first look for a machine. The most popular manufacturers are Epilog, Trotec and Universal.

      Gravograph USA continues to produce some decent machinery for engraving and laser marking. The Co2 or CNC rotary units can produce the same results. As far as software, I would go with the current version of gravo style. If you are on a budget, then I would use google sketchup.

      The industry standard for software is CorelDRAW and can be used with any laser engraver. Gravo style would be used only on one laser machine - that of Gravograph. Purchasing a more universal software would be more cost effective.

      Take a look at the Epilog laser website epiloglaser[dot]com. Manufactured in the US and have worldwide distributors. Request an info pack and your local distributor will be in touch. Works with any software that you can print from such as CorelDraw, Photoshop, Illustrator, AutoCAD, Serif DrawPlus etc. even Micorsoft Word! If you are based in the UK get in touch with me to arrange a free no obligation demonstration.

    is this raster engraved or vector cut? what are the settings for a 75 watt?

    • @LaserUniversity
      @LaserUniversity  Před 8 lety

      +HPA e-mail Laser foil can either be rastered for vectored. This example is vector cut. I have two other videos on this. Here is the raster method: czcams.com/video/aUpPzQLuo9E/video.html and another on vector: czcams.com/video/1UQ5hp7YB7o/video.html - raster settings would be same as you use on wood, vector would be around S-8, P-15 for a 75 watt.

      This was a product we used to carry and has since been discontinued by the vendor. The applying foil process would be the same though. I will be sure to make a note in this description indicating that the item being used has been discontinued. Sorry for any confusion and thank you for bringing this to our attention. - LaserU

      My problem has been all binders I can seem to find are either a vinyl or cloth type covering.Neither of which is condusive to lasers for risk of burn-through or even fire! If anyone knows where a wood binder can be found,please chime in!Otherwise I would be forced to possibly TRY to make one,lol.Thanks for the reply!
