    Death penalty is modern form of bloodlust; states with it still have just as high (or more) rate of murder as ones without it.
    Brodequin is great band.
    Thanks Jon for another quality interview.

    And yes, the recording is excellent. And mastering - it is such a relief nowadays to put in a CD and to hear one not succumbed to the loudness war, the one which actually sounds good on decent stereo.

      Thank you! I thought so too. To me this was one of the more interesting interviews a band has given me. When it's like this and not a "what kind of amps did you use on the record?" Interview I really enjoy them. 😁🤘🤘

    21:50 That's surprising in a good way. I've always thought there's bloodlust in big crowds where they wanna see the violence to be entertained. 24:50 Yeah I feel exactly the same way about it and that's why I still prefer regular boxing but to each their own. It's not like I condemn bare knuckle boxing it's just not for me. 26:35 I feel like that's the reason so many men go to the gym me included. That's also where I mostly listen to death metal. It's like an healthy outlet for aggression or at least for me it is. I'm not a violent person but I still got testosterone pumping through my veins and need to exert that energy somehow. Perhaps 700 years ago the equivalent of that would be to become a knight, smash skulls and get laid after winning a jousting tournament. Lol. 30:50 facts, easy to be a decent person in an environment where you have everything in abundance. 31:20 I guarantee you we are not far removed from that. The moment people and their families are starving they'll do anything including murder even in today's society. I think deep down we're still savages inside and the beast will come out when it's about survival. My friendly christian neighbor might hit me in the head with a baseball bat if his family is starving because food is so limited in this scenario I just made up.

      I started going to the gym to correct some serious imbalances I had built up in my body during my teens and 20s. Then once I got that sorted and started lifting heavy I was like "Damn! Why haven't I been doing this my whole life?!" It really calmed down my mind.

    Wow. A.I. pushed your chanel on me a few months ago now, and I've stuck around for the music reviews/suggs, ended up being pleased that the Philosophy element wasn't just a catch. And then you start educating me further one of my greatest loves, Medieval History. The Universe brought me hear! Fvck A.I.!

    Hat down to you for this interview. And what bugs me, all the torture still goes on, here and there the savage jumps out of the civilised shell, and the only way to counter it is through education and enlightenement, everyone of us hast to overcome our middle ages and savagery

    • @heavymetalphilosophy
      @heavymetalphilosophy  Před měsícem

      💯 I really don't think we're that much more enlightened now than we were then. We've just created systems and societal norms that make life today seem more civilized. We've merely stopped doing the torture in public.
