      With his shot release taking just under 0.4seconds, he still had time to handle around an opponent behind his own back and take a couple of strides to half court before taking the shot and it seemed like he was taking his time doing it too. So casual, no real sense of urgency and makes it look easy..
      Definitely one of the greatest players ever to play.

Sure, you can practice that, but I mean… and kicks it in from 30 feet. I think it’s some element of his mind visualizing and the body somehow instinctively doing exactly the right thing to manifest the vision.

He practices these shots because he recognizes the opportunity to get 3 points and some momentum going into the next quarter, or even keep his team in a tight game. Most guys just heave it up and hope it goes; with him, there is a relatively good chance every time.

      It'll throw off the game too much. That would be worth double the points, so even if you hit them at a rate of 21 percent, it would be equal to most teams' average field goal rate.
      So if you hit the shot at 30 percent, you'd be one of the most efficient scorers in the game. While I don't mind the three point revolution that's going on today, I'd think the NBA be hesitant to sell a product where one of the best strategies in the game would involve missing 70 percent of the time.
      That makes it boring for fans. On the other hand, I think it would increase the amount of slow dad-bod white dudes in the league who just hang out way back and do one thing.if there was a 40 year old dad who could hit the shot at 33 percent, he'd break every scoring record in the league.

    Exactly. It doesn’t just happen. There’s practice for that. And it’s the most fun. My coach used to bounce a ball on the adjacent wall which carried to the baseline wall and somehow…have enough height to make it in. It was incredible.
