One of the best guitarists ever. The t shirt is a reference to his Surfing with the Alien album, back in the 80s. great reaction!
Joe satriani is the "teacher" : He taught guitar to famous guitarists like Steve Vaï, Kirk hammet, and others... He is one of the top 5 guitarists of all time. That's his level recognized and accepted by the guitar world.
Joe is the mentor of Kirk Hammett, Steve Vai and many more, Joe history is a Guitar teacher/Proffecer back from 70/80's. Check out his G3 show's he has with his apprience legands 🤟
Thanks Lee. A good introduction to Joe. He taught, among others, Steve Vai and Kirk Hammett (Metallica) to play guitar.
The Silver Surfer reference is to his second album he put out years ago called Surfing With The Alien which had the Silver Surfer on the cover. It's also the album that Crushing Day was on
The Satch part is his nickname
Cheers 🤘🏻🤘🏻
And yea, not Iceman, Silver Surfer. Also a marvel character. But yes, the album he did was named Surfing with the Alien. And there were tracks named Back to Shalla Bal, which drew names from Silver Surfer comics. Interesting fan stuff for the record.
Joe Satriani is my favorite artist, and this is my favorite song!
That is the artwork from the cover of surfing with the alien album. This song is on it too. I seen him live and he played it standing.
For me Joe has always been the toppest guitar player and song writer.
So glad you got to see Joe, I've seen him about 30 times starting in the 80's, I was always next to the stage below him watching, theirs nobody like Joe!!! Check out his friends he has toured with from time to time, ERIC JOHNSON, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN!!!!
Joe Satriani is a guitar wizard. He learned Steve Vai to play guitar and now he’s a guitar wizard too.
Joe has an album with a silver surfer on the cover: Surfing with the alien.
if they have never seen this i would love to show it to midori and miyako of LOVEBITES. it should be mandatory viewing for any great or up and coming guitarist. i bet they would love it. i bought this new on cassette when surfing with the alien came out in late '87 and still is one the best guitar albums ever produced
Westwood One used this as their radio theme song back in the day.
it's the Silver Surfer. Check out the old cover for Surfing With The Alien.
More Joe ! You won't regret it !!!
Love to see somebody react to this. Cheers!
It's the Silver Surfer, not Iceman.
Hello yes!!🤘 More Joe Satriani please! Deep catalog of many great tracks to choose from. Here is a live performances of one of his songs called "The Crush Of Love"

By the way, yes, it is the Silver Surfer. He is on the cover of Joe Satriani's album, Surfing With The Alien. Which became synonymous with Joe Satriani ever since.
Great choice, I love Circles from that album, check it out
Great reaction - I saw him on the "Flying In A Blue Dream" tour in Newcastle in 1991, fair to say 90% of his audience can play guitar to some level, he makes it look so easy, though ! A jaw-dropping experience, I'm going to see him again in May, unless it gets postponed by fucking Covid again ?
I remember being a "diehard" Satch fan at the age of 17-19. After a few years I moved on, feeling the bass and drums were secondary/limited (in a real group the various musicians all deliver their best and "push" each other). But the legato-based technique always felt right, Joe (and Allan Holdsworth) being the main influence. Case in point, a month ago I bought a JS1000.
Bass player is working his ars off too.
Perfect timing Basil! A good intro to Lee, for my 2nd song from Oct with him in it! Joe is a master shredder!
A bit of Chickenfoot I hope 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Do you want to keep going with Chickenfoot. I was going to suggest Foxy Laday at Cabo, but I can leave that one up to you, if you want
@@bazkeen Yes, some chickenfoot! By all means do, there is a few great videos of a certain concert from them, that they just slay!
@@gman125 I take it you are going with Highway Star?
@@bazkeen Lee said in the Patreon that all reactions are recorded, and will be released this week. Should be available shortly to see! Woo!
@@gman125 Excellent 🤘🏻🤘🏻
he used to have hair
For another great guitarist you might like that is similar to Satriani but bluesier, check out Blues Saraceno - album Lighter Shade of Plaid
One song from album - Elvis Talking czcams.com/video/gNk6RMdiz-k/video.html
my personal vote for greatest solo ever narrowly edging out Highway Star's.
Satch may not be the greatest guitarist ever...but there's no one better.
His album Surfing with the Alien featured Silver Surfer on the cover.
Joe Satriani himself actually doesn’t really like this song
