A happy song that makes me swing and sing. A song that will stay in my head for a while. Nice combination of the voices of Adam Wakefield and Rob. Another great collaboration from Home Free and Texas Hill.

Tim, the bass for Home Free with gray hair, and Adam Wakefield, pianist with Texas Hill, wrote this one so it’s an original. Home Free has a lot of originals. They met Texas Hill and asked them to open for them in their concerts. They consisted of 3 guys. Apparently during this debut they asked the 3rd member to leave. (Not sure why, he might not have wanted to tour as much) and they are eventually adding 3 new members to Texas Hill. Anyway, Home Free has lots of originals, like Understand, Road Sweet Road, So Long Dixie. Then they did Dreamer with Texas Hill at the Ryman Theater live. It’s so good and Dreamer is another original.

Home Free + Texas Hill = ABSOLUTE PERFECTION!!!
Texas Hill appeared in shows in a Home Free tour and the two bands have since collaborated on "Dreamer" (watch the live version with Texas Hill) and "Go Tell It On the Mountain". Home Free is always eager to promote other artists and there's a live video from their latest tour of Home Free w/Maggie Baugh singing "Delta Dawn" that's just terrific. One of the many things I love about Home Free is that they're also ego & competitive free.
P.S. - 2 of the members of Home Free are song writers (both also play piano). Almost all of the songs are their latest album ("So Long Dixie") are written or co-written by them. There are videos of their previous original songs as well.

Every HF album except Lockdown had originals on it. Some by Tim or Austin (or Tim AND Austin), others by writers they work with like Jeffrey East, Mark Nessler, and Marty Dodson for some examples. Dive Bar Saints is all originals except for Go Rest High and Country Roads. Timeless had four originals, and So Long Dixie has only 2 covers - both 'lockdown' ones.
They done a couple other collabs with Texas Hill: Go Tell It On the Mountain (Christmas carol); and Dreamer (original) - please check out their "Dreamer - Live at the Ryman" as during a bridge in the song Tim introduces Home Free and Texas Hill in a fun way. (Note, Texas Hill in this song is only 2, but per their website they've just added 3 new members.)
All but 2 songs on their Dive Bar Saints album are originals and are fantastic. I'd recommend starting with these 3 - in this order (you'll understand why once you've seen/heard the videos):

If you want to react to an original from Home free, try "Catch me if you can". It is a beautiful song. "Dive bar saints" is another original from them that is real good. Honestly, all of their songs are great, cover or original 🙂
