I’m 80 and still gardening. We sold our farm and I’m limited to one acre. ! Hillside at that with a creek. Topsoil scraped off. Slowly getting things back I have no equipment other than hand tools and aplastic wagon. Three steep hillsides. Slowly getting it amended. This fall im aiming to amend and improve the soil. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. It has helped so much!
You sound like a amazing hard working gardener 🪴🐝
I turn 80 this fall and cherish my garden and the time I spend in it. So important to begin anew, in our beds, plants and life. Amending and improving the soil is probably the best thing I ever did, starting twenty years ago. I continue to do this every year, with great results over the years. Taking out lilies because they are just food for critters and I am tired of trying to protect them, either with spray or by covering. Also, moving or removing hosta for the same reason. It’s always changing, and I love that. Much good luck with all your projects.
God bless you with strength, health, vision, and inspiration to help guide it all.
I am turning 65 soon. Hope to be gardening in my 80s!
Sounds like a beautiful plan for your new land! 🌺🌼🌸
Prayers for Creekside's successes! Bravo guys for all your hard work.
Thank you!
Good morning, Jerry and Jenny! So happy to see Jerry with you on the tour, providing his own input on how everything is coming along! The projects are evolving beautifully, and I can’t wait to see the final outcome🥰
Good morning, Jenny & Jerry☕️ I love projects! Everything is coming together so nicely. I love how you used the wood from your trees 🌳 so awesome! Have a Blessed Day 😊🐶
Thank you! You too!
I can't wait to see the signature garden! It's amazing what you have done over the past two years.
Pretty cool stuff happening at Creekside, y’all have done a lot of work this past year!
☕️Good morning Jenny and Jerry. How fascinating to learn the details of your Daddy’s terrific woodworking talents! No wonder you two are so blessed with so many fabulous talents yourselves! This update is so fun. Those chickens have it made🥚. Thank you for sharing your beautiful property. From Michigan, have a great day everyone 🌻🦋🌼🐝
Good morning, Jenny and Jerry! Love the updates.
Morning! Thanks for watching!
I am so looking forward to the day you guys hit 100,000 subscribers , you work so hard you so deserve it. Love you guys so much!!
Thank you so much!!
Love following along with all the varied projects. A never ending thing it seems whether they are big are small. We always have something going on too.
Isn’t that the truth! Gardening certainly isn’t a passive hobby 😅
I so enjoy when you and Jerry chat with us together. He is a fount of information and so knowledgeable about so many subjects. Thank you both for sharing the tour. Busy bees 😂🐝
We FINALLY completed our path project, similar to yours in the back yard. I started digging it out last July at 9 months pregnant 😂 now my baby is a year old 😅
Hi Jerry and Jenny! Great projects! Coming along nicely! Appreciate Jerry's wealth of knowledge when he joins you! Creekside at its best! Thank you both for sharing! Always exciting to see the finished projects! Can't wait! Stay Blessed!
Morning Everyone 🍃🌸🍃
Love the thumbnail picture. You and Jerry are such a good compliment to each other.
8:52 Jerry's "what is in the woods right there?" that's the voice I get from my spouse when I've done something in the garden, and he's just now noticing.😂
😂
Yes and yes again to Florida Sunshine!!! Deer don’t eat it, doesn’t take too much care, and the color is stunning. Stays that color for the whole winter here in Williamsburg, VA. An anise plant that is a true stunner.
Good Morning Jenny and Jerry. On vacation but still keeping up with my favorite gardening channel.
Good morning, Jenny and Jerry! Thanks for the update on all the projects you have planned. Expanding a business is always exciting and somewhat scary but you really seem to have done quite a bit of research into your plans. I hope that you will have nothing but prosperous and abundant days ahead.
A fantastic video i have been with Creekside for a long time! The production of your property is awesome! Creekside is the best!!!
Thank you!!!!
I really like to see updates of different areas to see how everything is doing, good things and not so good, we all learn. Nice to hear Jerry and his perspectives. I look forward to fall drone videos, they’re always appreciated.
Love all the updates and information. Also enjoy when Jerry interacts with you on all the projects. Thank you for sharing.
High quality compost soil mixture and bio-tone. I hope you'll let us know exactly what you use when you amend the beds.
Wow, great plan for retail sales!!! You all are amazing! What a huge amount of work you are getting completed this year!! Great advice on the compost. Thank you!
On the advice of you guys, I use Biotone, now, on almost everything, especially new plants.
Great video. Sorry bout that loss…bless your heart ❤️🩹
Everything is looking good. Thanks for explaining the difference in the flower beds. The compost really makes a difference!
Good morning Jenny and Jerry, thanks for your updates, as always love seeing the progress on everything. HAVE A GREAT DAY, FINALLY STARTING TO COOL OFF HERE IN NORTHERN ILLINOIS.
Garden is beautiful…love the chicken coop
Enjoying the two of you so much! I am excited for e-commerce!
I dont think Cleomes get enough press! Such beautiful flowers and i love collecting the seeds and planting them the following year! You all do such a great job! I have purchased the solar lights based on your recommendation and I love it! Its a motion sensor solar light. Thank you!❤
I couldn’t agree more about foliage plants. As a new gardener I chased blooms at the beginning, but now I have some annuals , but layering blooming ground covers and shrubs, with evergreens is my main focus. Structure and height variance is what I’m interested in most. Pollinators get a lot from flowering ground covers.
Great video thanks for the tour your flowers n shrubs look awesome
you too work so hard, don't forget to take some time to relax.
The plum dandy is magnificent in that spot. The entrance is truly glorious.
So many good things to say about each of the areas! Just beautiful and teaching moments in each. Thankful you share the lessons. One of the big things for me is the difference in the entry beds (soil, fertilizer, etc.). The prep for the signature beds area sounds really interesting. I hope you'll share the steps.
Thank you for showing us even your less than “Instagram worthy” flowerbed. Other influencers seem only to show what’s perfect even tho they may “say” some areas didn’t turn out well. We need to see “failures” and what you suggest how to correct.
I couldn’t agree more! No garden (or life) is “perfect” and I want to show you my messes & successes!
I'm so excited for you guys!! I can't wait to see all the projects completed!!
Love hoselink game changer.
❤Amen to everything you said my sista!!! Amen!
Much love ❤
Love you both...
P.S.
I love the Good Lord, Jesus Christ as well 😇 Mrs. Jenny. It's good to know that people on CZcams are not ashame of talking about God(Jesus Christ).
I cant wait to see how you plant the gardens up !
Hi Jenny and Jerry, good job on the both of you talking on the video, you are a lovely couple, and you both are very knowledgeable regarding your business, and together you rock! I think it is great to hear you both, it will only make your business better, thank you both for all that you do.
Hi Jenny & Jerry. Great video. Love seeing Jerry on camera along side you.
Next on the list !
I like how Jerry is 🎤 up! I ended up buying a banana appeal and 2 varigated leaf hydrangeas that i have never seen before in my life to plant up. So excited! Love your knowledge.
Jenny & Jerry, Hi again from southwestern Alabama. I’ve really enjoyed following all of your projects. Y’all stay so busy, it puts me to shame. Here’s to continued success in all of your endeavors!!!
Good Morning
Yuuuhu nice presentation and showing. Yeay green space with many different plants it's awesome.
Thanks for sharing
Good morning friends! Everything is looking great. We all have mediocre things that turn out the way we hoped, but still looks fantastic! The red clay gives you and Jerry a wonderful glo!
A lot of work for sure! Have a great day! 👩🏻🌾🌾🌻☀️
Always excited to see a new video from Gardening with Creekside. Your passion for plants is infectious.
A nice update! Thx!
Thanks for the update 👍
Watching ya'll brainstorm is always a good listen!
Great update.
Will be a showcase for sure. Glad you are adding the e-commerce too. Best regards for your adventures ahead. If you desire, give us an update on how your daughter is doing in college!
Awesome projects! Love the updates.
Enjoying the projects and looking forward to continued work. Have a great day guys.
I love you guys and wish you the best for your business and gardens. Thanks for sharing. ❤
Hi Jenny and Jerry. Always look forward to the videos you put up on you tube. It seems to be cooling down some here in southern Indiana. We also had a little rain. Take care and thank you both.🙂
Thanks Jenny and Jerry. 🌺💚🙃
It is so much fun following your projects. The berm is so educational as to what plants thrive in zone 7. I learn a great deal from you guys and really am happy for you4 God given success. You’ve worked hard and He is rewarding your efforts.
Good Morning!! Thank you for the advice of putting compost down before mulching. I will do that after I do my fall planting to amend my red clay soil here in zone 7B.
I have a gorgeous Florida Sunshine just waiting until after this awful heat wave to be put in my shade garden. I'm excited about it.
Michigan here! 🙋♀️
Excellent updates/projects video!
Thanks!
I use Atlas for my greenhouses too, they are really great to deal with!!
True, Jenny. We’ve had two hens on the same nest many times. And if a hen chooses a new spot, they all want to switch to that one, lol.
Goodmorning you both did an amazing job. So inspiring and so exciting to watch what's next.
Thank you so much!
Good morning love your videos!! I’m in Winston salem zone 7b. I did the same with my Florida sunshine ilicium trying morning sun for for 5 hours and they did well so I planted them in may and they have taken off and done great. The color is a little more bright yellow green with the heat of summer but they are eye catching very impressed with this shrub ❤️
Great video 🎉
Nice 👍
That is the most adorable thumbnail I think I've ever seen🥰
Thanks! I took a screenshot from the video 😊
It has really been a whirlwind of activity for you guys this year! Everything is looking amazing! I absolutely love the chicken coop area! I'd love to have a coop, but our town does not allow chickens, dang it! 🙂
I always learn something when I tune in. Thank you! I got one nugget of wisdom from Jerry today that maybe you can elaborate on. Why is running drip irrigation everyday a bad idea? I have drip irrigation in zone 7a/6b. I deal with the heat and humidity too and always struggle to know how long to run it and when. Thanks!
Jerry, Jerry, Jerry!!!!
Girrrli am proud of your potato harvest, but all I could see was that bug on yet on your head 😅
Love the video showing your progress! Where did you get the blue chairs and table by the chicken coop?
Watching from Delaware.
Thank you❣️
I Wish Biotone starter fertilizer was available in my area Northern Indiana, zone 5.
Thank you for another great video. For the Florida Sunshine, will you have to provide irrigation as I’m assuming this area would be considered dry shade? I love the idea of this plant in my own landscape, but, from everything I’ve read and seen, they like consistent moisture.
That’s a little experiment I’m going to have to do. There are no plans on adding irrigation at this time so I’m going to start with hand watering as needed. I’ll definitely keep you updated!
May I ask what your using in your nesting boxes ? We use pine shavings and the hens are always scratching it out of the boxes. 🌺💚🙃
What size are the emitters for the brum area? Do you ring each plant with the water source?
So guys. You added “real good” compost to the berm. How does one know what “real good” compost is? Can you look at it and tell? What questions do you ask? I have a real problem with my no nutrient sandy soil. 🤷🏻♀️
Will there be any structures (pergola) in the Signature Garden?
Why don’t you turn the green houses for wind ? Just a question .❤ this is so fun
I have no idea how to use compost. Does it need to be turned into the soil or can plants be directly planted into a thick top dressing of it?
Jenny, can we get an update on your dahlia patch with the tubers Laura at GardenAnswer sent you?
Do you own the property across the road where the new greenhouse will be? Would be a great place to live with all the pretty shrubs
Are you doing concrete pads underneath the new greenhouses?
One full pad the rest will be sidewalks
I bet I know where you're going to buy your fountain from.
How much rain did you get….we got 8 inches in Statesboro,Georgia 😊
Oh wow! We were lucky if we even got 1”.
The soil might be too wet for your Dahlia.
What type compost blend do you use?
We use a lot of Espoma land and sea, plus we have our bulk mix
Happy to see you took my advice and miked Jerry up
I always love when both you and Jerry talk about the property. I really wished Jerry would have spoken about his plans of the front of the berm facing the house. Mainly because I have and area I had to raise in my front yard due to run off into my wet lands that was washing soil from my sloping front yard into the wet lands and away from the foundation of my house. Afraid that wash would create instability for the house foundation. When I had my driveway redone last fall I had all that fill they removed placed into that area raising it up. Behind that are woods to the wet lands. But it creates a unique spot. That would make a great room that’s hidden from the road. Visible only from the porch and driveway. I love boxwoods. I’ve watched how you do them and Laura. But mostly interested in what Jerry’s mind sight is with the boxwoods in the front of the berm. I see they create little rooms within a garden area. I understand his idea isn’t fully realized until those plants mature. I was thinking from his placement that it might be a soft wave creating depth behind. So Jerry could maybe you talk through what your thoughts are? I know patience is key to infrastructure. It made me think about those boxwood placements you did. Perhaps I will place my infrastructure along my wood edge with flowering shrubs and grasses but perhaps step down with a meandering boxwood low hedge in some kind of way. So then perennial placement in front coming closer toward my house. So what is your plan for that young hedge? I really want to know! I’m very interested! I like your ideas. I know you had an end plan that I think I see. I love the idea that it’s not a straight hedge line! Gosh….I was so hoping in this video you were going to discuss it!!!
I don’t mean anything about those boxwoods as any type of criticism at all so people don’t jump on me and send me ugly messages! I take all of their knowledge to heart! Just because I need help seeing something I might want to emulate isn’t anyway an insult!!! 🌺🌺🌺
🙋
I plant nothing without bio tone ….NOTHING
I don’t mind the other flower bed.
I wouldn’t complain about it.
The problem is the comparison with the other side.
Every bed does not need to be enormous
