Thank you for the video. Liked it.
I am an IT professional having basic experience with Software DAW's
I am considering taking a plunge into Soft synths and especially onto the mac ecosystem.
Unfortunately, where I live, there is less chance to checkout a mac book or Mainstage.
Could you please help me with a couple of questions?
    1. Once you create a multi sample, can you export them as a patch? To be treated just like inbuilt mainstage patches ?
(This way I don't need to worry about missing samples etc while transferring)
    2. How much memory / resources does a multisample with say 15 wav files take ... say compared to a built in strings sound in Mainstage?
    3. For my kind of music, the violin / flute sound is very much important. Does this sampler have an intelligent portamento functions?
    E.g.
    - In a multi sample, the Portamento starting from one note, crossfades smoothly into another note mapped to a different wave file.
    - Portamento curve based to the next key controlled by the release of the first key.
    - Portamento velocity that changes the the overall volume of the sound based on the next key / last key velocity.
    4. Can I create a rhythm kit based on 64 / 128 samples per key and export it as an inbuilt kit ? (Or) staying in the sampler, will the notes have latency issues while loading each wave file?
    Thanks in anticipation.

I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
      1. Yes, a multi-output channel strip will get saved in a patch the same as a mono or stereo output channel strip would.
      2. That's dependent on the size of the wav files but it most likely would be significant less than most sampler instruments in MainStage will have over 100 wave files in them.
      3. In my experience the portamento/glide function is not very great. It lacks solid believability that can be achieved in Kontakt.
      4. Could you elaborate more on this question? I don't think I'm fully understanding what you're looking for.

@@CatherallAudio Thanks for the response 🙏
You just nailed it with your 3rd answer. Yes that's exactly the portamento kind of functionality that I am looking at.
To give you a Hardware that matches it , Yamaha PSR A 5000.
4th never mind, you almost answered it with your 2nd answer.
To elaborate what I was looking for ... Just like patches, I was looking to create an inbuilt drum kit's (again as seen in Arranger workstations) so that I can compose a Rhythm / Accompaniment with one of the Arpeggio + Transform effects you just mentioned.

Hi...is it possible to stop the playing sound by touching the same key? like gate mode on other samplers...whenever I press the same key it overlaps the sound, on one shot mode...thanks for the nice video's...will wait for your answer

    • @CatherallAudio

To stop a sample you can either double-tap the space bar or you can set up a panic button in layout mode. We have other videos that cover setting that up!

How do I map my sustain pedal to trigger an articulation ID inside the sampler? e.g. in the timpani+ patch I would like to route to the tremolo samples when I press the sustain pedal.

    • @CatherallAudio
      @CatherallAudio  Před rokem

You can find the samples under your hard drive Library > Application Support > Logic
That will have the samples folder and the sampler instruments. They are in two separate folders. One houses the actual raw audio files and the other houses the sampler settings.
