On your folding tongue, try to spray this stuff called PB blaster on it. I had some rusted out trailer lug nuts that I could not get off, sprayed it with some PB blaster and was able to easily get them off afterwards. Nice boat and love seeing you and Lawson catch fish on it!

PB blaster is legendary and I went through a hole bottle trying to get it out 😂 unfortunately not even the Pb could get the job done. Appreciate the shout though! Maybe i'll spray it daily for like a week and see if over time it works haha

I’ve owned my strike for 7 years now and guiding off of it for the last year and a half and I love it! I don’t have a lot of experience on other skiffs but i swear it’s the driest smoothest little boat you’ll ride in.

Great video, Jake. I’ve had my Mosquito for 5 years, 60 Suzuki as well. Took me a few props to get it dialed in, but I’m running a 3 blade Power Tech and getting 35mph with two people at 6000rpm. Hole shot is excellent. If you’re ever on this side of the state, Ramlin trailers are behind the Orlando Airport, they’ll get that pin out. If you get it out, keep it greased, I’m willing to bet that’s why it seized. I grease it with marine grease a few times a year. Grease the jackplate at the same interval. You can also have them switch your spare tire mount to their “airboat” spare tire mount. Changes the weird angle on your current mount and the boat won’t make contact with it. Ramlin has amazing customer service. As for the backrest, if you call BeaverTail, they can send you new bushings for that seat hinge and it will tighten it back up. Had to do that with mine once as well. For the fuel gauge, all those damn analog fuel gauges go bad, but that’s an easy swap. On my boat, when you run wide open, the binacle “throttle” is about 1/8” from touching the console, I’m guessing that’s the reasoning for not mounting the stereo hub in that location.
Very informative and honest review. The Mosquito is an amazing little skiff. I still get compliments at the ramp. Runs shallow, poles very shallow and extremely quiet, handles chop with ease and is a very dry boat. Only time I’ve gotten wet is when quartering in windy conditions and the wind is blowing the spray. Ran across Whitewater Bay with my buddy following in an HPXV and we both got a little wet, so I don’t fault BT, some conditions are just crappy. Other than that it runs very dry. Love your videos and when you fish with Lawson. Always nice work.

install a metal products air pump in the baitwell , works great on pins and small mullet: after you calm them down with the big pump. much less amp draw

Do you ever have to cross large bodies of water? How does the mosquito handle in some wind and chop? I’m considering getting a Beavertail but would need to feel comfortable crossing Tampa bay.
Thanks for the good and the bad info on both your boat videos.

I think it handles chop and a little wind pretty well but I still think you need to pick and choose your days. Only time I really have to maneuver smart is when a big yacht drives by and I have to raise the engine and give it some gas so water doesn't dumb over the front lol.

Hello Jake , your CZcams channel is awesome. I own a beavertail vengeance with a swing tongue trailer I’m in the process of buying a home, and keeping my skiff in my garage. Could you tell me the measurement of your garage? Thank you.

I am not completely sure on my Garages dimensions. I can figure that out for you soon. But I have a mosquito so my boats sizing is a little different. I would probably bend the tongue on yours and measure from the prop on the engine that sticks out up to the further front part of the trailer to get an accurate picture of how much room you need.

@@JakeJenkins actually the mosquito is 2” longer than the vengeance, the garage of the home that I’m purchasing is is 21.4 by 21.4 , thank you .
