Overall bay boats and flats boats are pretty similar in design and appearance, so in this video I discuss the defining characteristics, the similarities, the differences, the best uses, cost considerations, and my overall advice if you are considering buying one of these types of boats.

This is an excellent video that is very thorough and well produced. I'm on the fence between a bay boat or skiff. It's going to be a Hewes Redfisher 18 for me. There’s also the hybrids out there. My release backcountry has a 18 deadrise and it’s a flats boat.
