Because of the nerf, that went too far but was understandable since they were so good before. Or the other thing, because that makes my blank girls concerned for their future.
@Historyfrek4ever more so the rules nerf. Completely fine with the addition of girls. Honestly seems lore accurate given how stodes are made in the first place, just very rare. But no, those rules stretched way too far imho. When the original rule got rid of dev wounds defense earlier in the 10th, they dropped from 53-55% to 43-45%, but went back up to 53-55% when they said they could again. Now, they've essentially overwritten that again plus way more nerfs to our characters. Plus, our new rules and detachments just suck.

The new Codex literally destroyed the Custodes. They are unplayable now. If Joe had missed some more rolls, that just means the Custodes player would have lasted one more turn, tops.

Real fans already boycotting it for lore retcons. There will be no people to play it soon enough. Game Workshop already hidden their stock drops, it means their end is soon.

with -1 ap, which is a bit much for simple ork melee
I can imagine Tactical objectives seems like a lot to new players, but I promise they're not as complex as they look and it is absolutely the best way to play 40k right now. Also there's nothing stopping you playing 1500 points, I agree it is the best points to play.

I love the commentary throughout the battle joe! I do think it would be more cinematic and entertaining if the gameplay and commentary was in order of sequence however, where the summary was only done after those events happened as opposed to before.

gw is pretty much taking every resin model out of circulation and moving them to legends, most of this is happening with AOS. They've already announce some of those aos models will be getting new plastic models for 4th edition release we've already seen the new clanrats and liberators. A lot of people think some of these will be getting new minis but most of them will be banished to legends.

Orks are not hat OP, you just have to know how to play againt them. Also you played the rules a bit wrong with the alternating melee fight. What I want to say, a expierenced player would beat joe with the same lineup very easy.

I love watching these reports :) but seeing this, you really see how 40k's system is not much fun. you can just sit there and watch your army get obliterated turn 1. if it wasn't for the cool lore and models, I don't think people would play GW games. Mantic's rulesets are much more fun, so is OnePageRules - which I'd love to see you play, btw :) Maybe 11th edition will bring some changes
Tbf if you are getting obliterated turn 1 there's a problem with either you or the table you're playing on
Custodes player played really badly. Looks like he went first and decided to run everyone into the middle of the board, allowing him to get charged by everything turn 1. Also not enough terrain on that board for a fair match.

There is an argument to be made that his channel isn't an inherently political one and we should be able to separate our differences in politics so we can enjoy a hobby together but it is getting more and more difficult to do that when the people creating the hobby are allowing their politics to alter the game. So it's natural for there to be pushback.
But, AJ shouldn't address it because the channel isn't about that. It's about playing something he loves and sharing it with those who would watch it or love it too.
I will say that there is a point where the line is crossed and everyone should acknowledge it and decide where they fall but that also isn't something that needs to be publicly announced by him; it's none of our business.
At the end of the day, everyone's politics should be kept private. I can infer AJ's politics and freak out and stop watching or I can not give a shit about his politics and enjoy the channel and personalities that come with it. AJ has no control over GW or BlackRock so why rage over his inferred opinion?

The drama surrounding 40k has been something. Majority of 40k fans are neckbeards so it's definitely puzzling to try and focus on a small percent of people over the masses definitely when that percent they're currently pandering to will never grow at a massive scale or even remotely reach the growth of it's male fanbase. These companies act like they don't how business works sometimes. Everyone has thier own hobbies it's impossible to please everyone
Well, it is one thing to make changes. It is another to retcon old lore then try and gaslight people who have spent hundreds of hours learning that very lore. The "drama" could have been eased if they actually did something intereseting with the change, made a story about in how things came to be, some actual need to bring females in or something other than "They were always there, in the BROTHERHOOD, 'meber?"
It’s called Capitalism. GW wants money, that’s why they want to target a demographic. You can call it pandering and that’s absolutely what it is. GW wants money and they do this as a risk taking venture. Whether that risk pays off is anyone’s guess, but that’s why they do it. There’s no actual “ Woke” agenda.
It's literally because Blackrock owns 11% of GW, and their ESG score is what grants them funding or not

I think having female Custodes now in the lore and retconning so they were always there in the 10,000 is only a good thing for the fanbase. The fanbase needs to chill out, okay? Because all the people who are newly joining the hobby and love of Warhammer or just hearing and learning about it are gonna think it's full of intolerant pigs. No matter how explained or what the argument against having female Custodes is presented, that's how most people will probably view it.
How is gaslighting your fanbase, and insulting their intelligence a good thing? Even though people still wouldn't like it, at least this would have been taken better if they were honest about retconning it instead of acting like this was always the case. Also, normal people won't view them as intolerant pigs, but only a vocal minority of terminally online Reddit/Twitter users. GW lying aside, is it the end of the world that female Custodes were retconned? No, but it's definitely a red flag of what is to come.
