Jack of trades, master of none.
You won't see him til your 3rd playthrough at least and his stats are average at best. Without a crest stone he has no Relic access (outside Dark Creator Sword) and those are the best weapons in the game so it limits his accessory usage.
He's fun, but nowhere near op. Painfully average character.

My only issue is that it happens at Ailell of all places and not Gronder Field.
@@MrGksarathy To be fair, Gronder Field never actually happens in Three Hopes. The Officer's Academy at Garreg Mach is only open in Three Hopes for one month, so, not long enough for the mock battle to even happen, as that happened at the end of the second month. So, Three Hopes never even reaches the Battle of the Eagle & Lion segment before events call each of the three houses home, necessitating that the Academy be shut down. And then the war happens, meaning the Academy stays closed until after the war is actually over.
@@gamester512 That's not why I take issue. Even Hubert points out that Ailell is a way too cramped place for all these armies to meet, and a better battlefield for basically all parties would be Gronder Field.

When I was thinking of a special cool name for Byleth and Shez's duo attack, I thought about "Heaven and Earth" but I also thought "Horizon." The Horizon is where Heaven (Byleth) and Earth (Shez) meet, but then it hit me.
The Horizon is between Heaven and Earth, but what can you find in a horizon? *The Edge of Dawn.*

It just hit me Byleth and Shez are quite literally Heaven and Earth. Byleth being the reincarnation of the Goddess and Shez being the Vessel for a being who's born of the Earth.

Aleli in Scarlet Blaze was my favourite map of the run. Crimson Flower never got a "Reunion at Gronder Field" style of map, which was disappointing but understanable, given the route. Aleli was a fantastic choice and the remix of Between Heaven & Earth was brilliant.
My only complaints are that the game stops you every minute to state at boulders and that weren't as many named characters in the fight. By chapter 14, you've already killed/recruited all the Golden Deer and half of the Blue Lions, leaving very few units. In Azure Moon & Verdant Wind, the Gronder Field Reunion levels were complete blood baths and I love it.
I'm surprised you don't kill that many Blue Lions in Scarlet Blaze, you can even spare Annette if you use a strategy, at most it's Ingrid, Gilbert, Rodrigue, Sylvain and possibly Annette. I was playing the good ending version of Aillel so it made sense that the Golden Deers were recruited since the pact stays and Claude and Hilda show up as green units instead.

By the time you arrive at Aleli, you already neutralized Ingrid, Rodrigue and possibly Annette (if you don’t use the secret passage).

It's always a good time! I personally recommend playing Three Houses (the mainline game) before playing this one, since this is a spinoff of it. Fantastic game with great stories, fun and in-depth tactical gameplay, lovable characters and of course, amazing soundtracks. Though I also recommend looking at gameplay videos to see if it's right up your alley, because Strategy RPGs are not for everyone.
The graphics are terrible but hey everyone looks past it and enjoys the game. Three hopes looks much better!

@@somebodyyoudontknow3980 Yeah the Awakening demo is definitely the best way to try out Fire Emblem, but there might be a lot of people who don't have a 3DS compared to a Switch, so I always go with what's most likely readily available to them.
And yeah, watching a Strategy RPG is not exactly the must fun experience generally speaking, but it does give a good idea as yo how the games are, because they're definitely not for everyone.
No wonder this is the 'Inferno' version, because fire would be an understatement

I love that this game gave the Black Eagles there “Battle at Gronder” like BL and GD in 3H. They needed in that game but got it here instead. Just a sign of how the team cares.
The Thunder variant of this was already one of my favorite tracks in Three Houses and then they managed to make it better somehow

This map was crazy in Azure Gleam. We finally get to fight Caspar and Leopold von Bergliez, and the ones who fought them were actually Petra and Shamir. Mercedes recruited the Death Knight, and that was a crazy battle cause I thought she needed to defeat him to recruit him but no you just need her to be present. Claude, Hilda, and Holst didn't bring anything to the table though. They were there. Still not as impactful as Dimitri slaughtering everything with a spear/Gradivus at Gronder Field but it was still a cool map.
I remember actively POPPING OFF when I first booted into Aillel and this played... my actual favorite track in both games

@@ladyofhresvelg yeah it really sucks AG doesn’t get it’s own intro cutscene. It removes a lot of the suspense leading it to feel like just any other battle in AG instead of the significant battle it should be. I still personally prefer it in the fact that I’m team Blue Lions all the way but objectively it’s handled much better in SB.

Finally beat the game for the first time doing the Scarlet Blaze route. This battle was by far my favorite. The really cool cutscene that plays before the battle, the music, the fact that the Black Eagles finally got a Gronder Field type battle, the environment - all excellent. The battle itself was pretty chaotic for me, but it was fun chaos.
In Chapter 9 Golden Deer boss mission took place in Ailell and they didn’t put to play Between Heaven and Earth but instead they played The Long Road

Didn't saw Claude betraying you coming, a full 3-way battle with this theme was so damn epic. It's a shame that I had a really overpowered Ferdinand that did almost all the job, but still, easily my second favorite chapter just after the one you kill Jeralt.
I recruited Byleth to my army so I didn't get this particular scenario, interesting
@@chosospigtails this is the chapter when Byleth and Claude die (Dimitri just retreats), after this one is the final battle at Garreg Mach against Rhea and Thales.
@@karasu__tenshi i see, in my scenario you get to fight as all 3 lords + shez in zahras and it was pretty epic. i suggest trying to recruit byleth on your next route for blue lions or golden deer to experience the fight, it happens on every route if you have Byleth!

This map on Scarlet Blaze when you don't recruit Byleth has been the absolute highlight of this game for me so far, it really felt like an all-out war between the different factions, absolutely amazing map. I would highly recommend anyone who plans to play SB to not recruit Byleth, the route really is so much better for it. I get that recruiting Byleth leads to a "happier" ending, but realistically there is really no reason to believe the pact between Edelgard and Claude will last.
No way, I'm still letting claude and edelgard have the pact forever, because I hate bad endings, and I keep him alive, for my boy claude.

What's even more awesome about this map on SB when you don't recruit Byleth is that you are literally fighting _all_ the protagonists of the previous game sans Edelgard. Like, Dimitri, Claude, Seteth, their retainers, Felix and Sylvain, _and_ Byleth on top of that. It's just crazy how many important characters this map throws at you. I'd still say AG was my favorite route overall, but this map was definitely the highlight of the game for me.

Just finished the level right now on Scarlet Blaze. Man the hype was real! Was kinda suspicious of Claude and my fears were confirmed.
IS finally did the Black eagles justice by finally letting you play as them! Waited too long for this moment.
My only criticism is I wish the battle had taken place at the Tailtean plains instead of Aiellel (however you spell it). I feel like it would have been a more fitting setting that more closely mirrored the battle at Gronder Field and given the circumstances of at least Scarlet Blaze could make sense storywise for the battle to take place there.

What's the difference between inferno and embers?
Inferno is more intense and has more instruments, and plays during active gameplay.
Embers is the calmer version that plays in the pause screen where you give your characters orders.

I agree but they really should’ve done more with almyra in golden wildfire. I get that they wanted all the routes to tie into each other, but it feels weird to only have like 2(?) chapters focused on that.

Unless if you don't fight Byleth and Jeralt. That way claude will never both die and betray them, simple as that.
Not gonna lie, a bit disappointed with the remixes of this song, at least around the 1:50 mark. I really like the punchier, more staccato horns from the original where each beat hits like a punch. Here each note flows into the other a lot more seamlessly.
I think with this one the issue is that the entire song is at an 11 whereas the original versions had peaks and valleys so you could appreciate the big moments
