Most people don't know, but this Taurus is a Beretta. Beretta supplied the Brazilian army, but in the 80s the contract was not renewed. Then Beretta sold the factory in Brazil to Taurus, which continued to manufacture the Beretta with the name pt 92 and its variants.

The Taurus PT-92 is not an exact Beretta copy. Safety/decocker is on the frame on the Taurus (which I prefer), whereas it’s on the slide on the original Beretta 92. There are other differences.

Function and reliability seem fine but I wouldn’t buy this gun just because we are not a horrible shot and we could not hit the broad side of a barn at 10 yards and it is way too thick for me to consider it a ““ compact. Thanks for watching.

As hard as it may be to believe it's not A clone Taurus Bought the Brazilian Beretta facthree that was made in 1974. They are using the same factory and the same machines that beretta did to make the 92. So I'm not quite sure that you can call It A clone made on the same machines in the same factory.

"Made on the same machines in the same factory" is indeed NOT the same. Beretta trains their employees differently than Taurus. I own a "Hecho in Brazil" Taurus. The parts are all there, but close inspection of said parts will reveal that they are not finished, as in polished and/or fitted. Once I disassembled and fixed these issues myself, it's a great firearm.

I don't like the open top slide. I see it as a great big dirt scoop. On the farm my guns always seem to attract a lot of dirt. Maybe it is more emotional as I was disappointed when the Beretta replaced the beloved 1911.
I want as much accuracy as possible. And a good trigger is part of that. I never liked the double/single trigger.
I like my Taurus G series guns. I will stick with them.
And yes as a kid there were guns we saw on TV or in movies that we thought we wanted. I would have done almost anything for a Bren Ten after seeing it in Miami Vice. Which wasn't the only thing on the show that made my eyes bulge out and my heart to race.
I couldn't afford it nor was I old enough to buy the Bren. If I had it today though it would be worth a good chunk of money.
    Thanks for the review.

I had purchased a Beretta APX A1 full size for carry at work. Pistol shot consistent low right. My boss even tried it and had the same results. Very frustrating. Plus with my aging eyes the blacked out rear with tritium front sight was not working. And the trigger was grating my finger much like this pistol was with yours. When we would do 500 plus rounds at the range it became unpleasant. Shot my directors Sig 320 Compact and placed five shots touching in the middle of a small circle on the target. Long story shortened APX out new Sig 320 Compact and my qualifications are so easy. Get what fits. Thanks for the video.
