I have a feeling Illaoi is testing Braum if he truly what he is, a strong man with a good, kind heart. Braum, on the other hand, knows how to read people's emotions, he successfully passed her test not once but twice.
Illaoi confirms that Braum is indeed strong in many ways men could not. You can comfort a lady with words then take advantage of exposing her weakness even when offered in the first place but Braum chose not to bec he is not that kind of man who takes advantage for self-satisfaction.
A thing about the character of Braum has always been an inspiration for me: a lot of characters he interacts with (Pyke, Yasuo and partially even Ahri), usually not the sharpest ones for what regards social interactions, dismiss him as dumb or oblivious due to his overwhelmingly and sometimes intrusive positive behaviour.
In reality Braum is shown to be an incredibly socially smart person, is perfectly aware that negativity exists, and he pretty much forces himself and his positivity onto others in their moments of weakness: he's not a guardian just by profession, but truly at heart. He's the representation of true strength: not a predator, not the top of the food chain, but a strong protector who stands for the mentally and physically weak and cherishes them into improving and becoming strong themselves.
The most exemplary case is Yasuo, who's even bothered by Braum's insistent attempts at befriending him and prefers to be left alone: Yasuo is the first to not understand his own needs and that being this insistent on staying alone is not good for him, he claims and wails to have no friends, yet he shuns everybody that tries to. Braum understood Yasuo better than Yasuo himself.
