    All my German cars over the years from my Scirocco to my Mercedes convertible to this Audi I bought recently a fox all of them have had to deal with getting the European headlights from Europe and the European bumpers. The Scirocco I'm sure glad I bought those when they were available cuz they're like all gone 1984. European headlights for that Jetta or one big rectangle those look pretty sweet I'm sure you can go to eBay just click the advanced search and then click on worldwide search and you can find European headlights for it the real ones then you can put the LED small bulb in the parking light inside the headlight and they look pretty sweet and they're bright and a 10 SI alternator I've heard is a good idea for old Volkswagens no one wire gm.

    Nice vid Ry! The Red Rabbit has so much more gravity to the build, as in I want perfection and the job done right.....because the build is so cool and your skill set and creativity is a huge factor entertainment wise. Somehow the few hours of your energy and a 12 dollar can of paint was just as inspirational! Cant wait to see whats next this Wednesday and next Sunday! Love it

    Looks great. I'm drawn to the gap under the grille where (I'm assuming) the rearmost part of the spacer cover butted up. Could you slice it up and maybe tuck it under the top of the bumper, or perhaps paint that spot black? Just a thought on my end.

    • @MysteryGarage
      @MysteryGarage  Před 3 lety +1

      Hey thanks for the comments, Yes, you (or I) absolutely could, both are options, i think i would choose the paint route though just because keeping that cover in my opinion would be a tough squeeze and would kinda look very busy. Im a simple is best kinda guy and actually prefer the way it looks now, similar to what you see on a rabbit; slight colour before the bumper. But to each there own for sure and totally understand what your getting at! With some more fittling I'm sure it could be dialed in even more!! Appreciate the comments as always and thanks so much for watching!! Cheers!!

    The 80's in North America were not kind to all those beautiful european bodylines. It was like they put park benches on the front and back of your car. I wish I saw this hack when I had my 82 Scirocco...what trim paint are you using? I use to like the SEM 'trim black' myself but I'm sure there's a few more options nowadays...

    I always thought those bumper regulations were an attempt to reduce European import when sales on the domestic market went down in North America. In this video it was for me to have a better look at your 'klompen'. I wondered how you managed to walk on them so silently, but they are rubber, aren't they?

    • @MysteryGarage

      Thanks for the comments. Ya pretty simple stuff, just scuff the whole bumper lightly with scotchbrite pad, then spray, 3 light coats and thats it.
