that's such a great idea !
Thank you! I just got into leaf crafting, and I can’t wait to try this!!
This is a good explanation, thanks!
And try not to get nervous, it's just us here lol
Thank you so much for making this video! Today my kids and I went on a leaf hunt and collected a variety of leaves in different stages of transformation. We wanted to preserve our treasures and your video was so helpful, thank you!!
This video was perfect! Trying this right now ✨🍁
Great video - thanks, I am going to give it a try now!
Great explanation. I particularly like the way this works with leaves that have already turned yellow or brown. I will probably highlight them with paint
Thanks for sharing this technique; I've m-waved them in silica gel but this would be a lot easier.
This was SUCH a good video! x :)
Thank you I tried this right away ❤️❤️❤️
I am going to try thank you very much 😮
Thank you! I will try this out coz me and my little girl found these beautiful red leaves and we would love to turn them into book marks!
If you will take wax paper and use hot iron to melt the wax from the paper to the leaves then press for a few day you can keep them for a long time great vedio
THANKYOU SO MUCHHHHH YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW THANKFUL IM
P,s using the wax paper use note paper on top of the wax paper if you don't you will get wax on your iron
Thank you for this information. Very informative and put together well. You are a great video creator.
Thanks for info 👍🏾
Great tip 🍂🍂
I'm glad you liked it! I hope that it helps! x
I Wonder if you can combine the two methods somehow to get a flexible leaf with preserved colors
Thank you!!!
silica gel also works well- you asked for suggestions :)
Nice Video. If I use microwave method how long the leaves will last?
I've tried the glycerin method and was extremely disappointed, too. I wanted to retain the colors of the beautiful leaves I found, but the glycerin ruined them (the color, that is).
I viewed a video before yours where a lady actually used modge podge to preserve leaves last fall. I asked if the leaves had faded by now, and she said they hadn't. She applied full strength modge podge directly from the bottle to the leaves with a paint brush. Pryor to that she'd flattened them in a book, but IMO, that part could be skipped or done after applying the modge podge.
It seems using a microwave to remove the moisture would make the leaf brittle. Did you find that to be the case?
How long do they last?
Can I do this with Magnolia leaves
Hi! Is very interesting your method to preserv leaves! I liked it very much! Could you please give/indicate some links or tips where I could find good way to do it with glycerin, because I need them flexible. Thank you in advance!
I can answer that for you. Glycerin can be found at drug stores like Walgreens, but like she said, it makes the leaves lose their color. A better way is to apply modge podge directly to the front and back of the leaf with a paintbrush. Make sure you let each side dry completely before applying the modge podge to the other side. The leaf will keep its vibrant color AND will be flexible as well.
If you don't have modge podge, you could try white school glue. I believe it would give the same result, but I'm not sure.
I guess I messed up. I did 10 seconds at 5 second intervals and then the leaf faded to a burned brown in my hands
Will the colors last?
How do you protect leaves that are air dried? I have dried rose leaves and want to protect them
You can probably put them into wax paper afterwards (like the regular wax paper/iron preserving method), or even just brush on some clear glue. I use elmers glue all the time for keeping things stable and if it will come into contact with water I use clear nail polish over it when dry.
I've used clear craft glue on dried flowers a few times and it does keep them a little more durable, plus then they can be dusted after they have sat out for a while!
@@colemarie9262 Have you tried glue on undried fall leaves? Or, in other words, recently fallen leaves that haven't been intentionally left to dry and flatten out in a book? I saw a video where a person applied modge podge a year ago to her leaves. They are still flexible and vibrant. I'm just wondering if glue produces the same result.
Thanks for tutoring and making this a very easy process compared to others.
I will give it a try today👍🏼
I would ask you, please slow down the speed of your speech.
You can control the playback speed - make it faster or slower. Hit the icon that looks like a gear (or flower) at the bottom right-hand corner of the video and look for Playback Speed.
Have you ever considered acting. Great screen presence.
Breathe hun... I have asthma and it was hard for me to watch this without feeling suffocated, but great vid!! thanks so much!
Nice video. Good explaining. One suggestion would be to try to keep your hands from flapping and waving all the time. I found it very distracting.
Great video, but why are you so nervous?! Your anxiety was making me nervous. Try some deep breathing :)
I think she does a very good job speaking she didn't say "uh" once like most people who are nervous and panicking would do..
She does not seem nervous lol.
I agree that she does seem a bit nervous. Not saying “uh” like someone mentioned above but maybe because her face is shiny and that is an indication of nerves. Sweating because of nerves. She did a great job though.
Also talking fast, trying to get it out. You can just tell.
you are dropping your voice so that most of what you are saying is muddled. volume goes up and down and never consistent and makes it very difficult to understand what you are saying.
English is not my first language and I can understand her perfectly, she is doing a great job I think
