Taught my son how to handle bullies in Blade and sorcery. Multiple enemies with drastically different fighting abilities. As well as Team building skills. The best for me is simulated high-speed drifting, racing. As well as space dogfighting in Elite dangerous. I have found sitting on an ice ring floating in space has a very peaceful sense of isolation.

It teaches you how to assess multiple targets. and to dodge hits from the back and side. The thrill of the fight and creed rise to glory teach him speed and technique. Seriously, they are fighting simulators. They may lack physical injury, but they make up for it in free training. Qpen your mind up dude.
In the near future : Having sex with someone without ever having to use a condom because if it's virtual, then there is no way to get sick or get anyone pregnant. THATS what I'm waiting for. Yahoo!
with some of my health problems , I would be able to go on roller coasters, concerts, and make things I can no longer can do. I would ride ATV's. I love speed lol
You know what I wish they would invent. An AA or an NA Group where you can go in and talk about your problems. Because a lot of people need help but they don’t want to leave their home

If you have these kinds of problems you probably don't have money for a VR set and even you did have a VR set you've probably already sold it for a dose.
Have a group in your vr private room. Invite your friends and acquaintances. Have whatever group meetings you wish. You can even go into the theater room and utilize the huge vrtv.

One of the best thing about watching movies in VR is that even when the movies aren't in 3D, it still feels like it. When you watch videos it you zoom in enough so that the sides are almost beyond the edge of your vision, its like you are in the room or on-site watching the movie. Its a very different feel/experience than watchging the same show on TV.
If you are going to copy movies to your headset, I suggest converting them to a slightly different resolution. square the horizontal resolution and divide it by the vertical resolution. That will give you a number. Change the vertical resolution to that number. And then watch it in 180 degree mode on your headset, That will allow you to "look around" the scene as its playing.
Glad it works like that for you with the VR headset. It doesn't for me. - With a large screen 65 inch 4K TV, and sitting 10 feet from the screen, I get that theater effect that you described.
@@billm8044 it’s cool in both modes, but try CZcams VR where you adjust the screen size. It’s pretty cool to be in there. I like watching undisputed in it feels like I’m sitting next to uncle Shannon and skip 😂

This vid’s a bit dated but I’ve basically done all of these activities virtually as if in “real life.” You forget the face mask pretty quickly and for me the goggles have been comfortable enough to fall asleep in (unintentionally). Throughout this pandemic I’ve made friends, traveled, and am even furthering my education while never leaving home. All using a stand-alone bit of tech small enough to fit in a backpack and cheaper than a new computer monitor or tv -used it for those, too! What’s not to like!?
Great video..lol you missed one major category, but its nice to keep it "safe for work". Anyone new to VR and considering getting into it, the quest 2 should be the headset to consider at this point in time (for both price and specs)
I mean other than gaming that’s definitely the only other thing I use it for. The infrastructure is even there on many sites. Though it could use some work. Lol
Just got a quest 2 and I think it’s the best value for the money. Good resolution and refresh rate. I also tried out that “other” category (wife just had surgery to remove cancer so she’s out of commission for a while) and I have to agree that it’s pretty legit.
There are very basic application of oculus but you can use it for most advanced uses...like after design you can check you CAD designs (can reduce expenses of prototype)...data visualization for better decision making(like share market) and better planning(managers), high level of monitoring (supervisor)for your company or servielance, guides for delivery boys for better route , remotely working, teaching sports, and so many

You can also turn your pc into a multi-screened virtual workspace with screens surrounding you if your PC is strong enough and you can link it to your headset.
I like a lot of these, the online vr room, the shopping, and the movies. I'll say those 3 I remember those. I like the video games to. Thank u for this video and all of the information u provided. I have the meditation one and I love it. I always wanted to do mediation but I was never consistent. But I really like going into the beautiful peaceful world of VR and doing a guided mediation. I am also looking forward to checking out the travel ones, and possibly the language learning ones too.
My favorite thing to do is exercise! I LOVE Supernatural! Being a 2x cancer survivor & disabled, I didn’t think I would ever be able or even really have a desire to workout again, but with this app, I look forward to working out daily & increasing my heart rate & burning those calories!

I enjoy being creative. I love Tilt-Brush. I am interested in creating in 3-D and will purchase Gravity Sketch. I would very much enjoy seeing a VR interactive experience that allows one to learn a new language and learn for example, Chinese or Japanese calligraphy. As in Tilt Brush, one could practice with a virtual brush the formation of letters and then gradually advance to writing words. I believe this would attract individuals that enjoy learning. One could even be tested on certain levels, allowing one to advance. Just an idea.

When you guys do ‘Rec Room’, I noticed there are older men trying to lure children in. Make sure you tell your kids not to give out any information like real name or location/state when they talk to people because the will “talk you out” for that info. The even try to lie just to see where YOU are at and it’s scary because it’s a cool/ fun app so they would expect it to be safe.
I am glad you said this because there are so many parents who font think about this. I also let my children know that they are sometimes playing Roblox and other online games with adults, just so they don't assume everyone is around their ages.
Just wondering which apps do you use for VR Tours. I don't have a Quest 2, but I have a Windows MR headset (Samsung Odyssey+). There are only a few Steam VR games I could find, and certainly don't allow you to "go visit anywhere in the world".
What about surgery? I mean the actual cutting part. You already said teaching. When I was in the service the tankers practiced their skills on a arcade game that had you driving a tank. (Green lines made the enemy... it was really basic even for a game in the '80's.) Can you control a robot via VR? I am thinking of work in outer space, underwater and bomb disposal/hazardous environments.
I have the Oculus 2 and my experience with VR in general for those who have never VR before. - Feel like you're looking through a tube, the screen does not cover your complete view of vision, the corner around the screen is not in focus. - Everything looks fake or cartoon-like. - Watching movies and tv shows is great because you can adjust the screen size to your liking, except for those apps that require a social environment to watch. - Real-world destination is great for seeing new places, but you have no control over your experiences, they just pop you from one place to the next, and half of the content of the video are not in high enough resolution to really enjoy the views.
I’m new to VR, and am receiving my oculus 2 256GB today, can’t wait! I’ve never even used a VR headset but Ive been watching several videos about it and I’d be interested in knowing if anyone using this type of device has ever experienced life changing alterations in perspective. After a few hours of playing poker and laughing and winning/losing money and messing around Wothba cool group of people I took my headset off and kinda tripped out that I was just chillin’ on my back balcony, with my dog laying below my chair, and I was looking at my hands moving them around thinking how it could def be possible this is ALL a simulation LOL.
After using the oculus rift s for some days, I had flashes of displacement of my hand/arm in my perefiral view. My hand wasn't in the position that my brain told me, for a split second. Happened a few times.
bro.. lmao you have such a sugar coated view of VR. I'm sure after getting it you realized it's cool but definitely nothing "life changing". At most your hands and surroundings feel weird for a little after long sessions. It's VERY obvious when you're in VR as the technology is very far from being anything that spectacular. No matter how good the graphics might be, you will still be limited by a small FOV and relatively "low resolution". And you also have a giant device strapped to your head that even in the best possible case is far from comfortable.
To #7 add a subpart called HEALING: I bought my Oculus2 the 3rd day after2 hernia SURGICAL repairs. I was not happy about bed rest, however, this helped me be still & play or rest in stationary play; Also VR EXPOSURE therapy for PTSD 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸veterans ( American Journal Psychiatry study 2014) works as good as a drug without side effects 💊makes so much sense!🙏🏽
honestly if they start offering virtual shopping that's the end of it. That's going to be extremely addictive. They need to improve what they have by 100% though, using naturalism. We need to see the fabric, get a sense of the feel, be able to open things up, look inside. It needs to be less digital looking and more realistic looking. Shops already do virtual tours so it should be an extension of that.
Please do a video covering just TV. Have low vision and can rely on this for all my TV. How to save a series and retrieve it. How to record it to watch it later
I honestly want a headset that acts like a standalone linux computer and phone replacement in addition to being a cool vr/ar headset. I feel like computers are moving towards integrating into the environment and it would be really nice if that could be more open source.
VR shopping. You need an app at or of the store, correct? Or, can one person be In the store with VR and the other person at home with an integrated/real time VR watching and speaking with you at the same time? How to make the VR experience in REAL-TIME between two users?
I don't scare easily but I found a game that I my fears in Phasmophobia. I find ghosts terrifying and this game is not just about seeing ghosts and apparitions but you have to wilfully look for them. Scares the hell out of me i can barely play it for long.
@@MirceaBoise Hello, please check your drone's app to see whether it supports VR, 3D Studio or something like that. If it does, you could just buy a cheap VR googles, open your drone's app and enters its VR mode (two smaller images), put your phone into the goggles you have, and then you can fly your drone with a cheap VR goggles. If you have a goggles with HDMI slot, which could be mini HDMI or micro HDMI, then you will need a cable from your phone to that particular HDMI slot. I have an iPhone which does not have a HDMI output. However, don't worry about this. For an iPhone, just buy a Lightning to HDMI adapter (or an more expensive Apple AV adapter which has a HDMI slot), and connect your HDMI capable goggles with your iPhone with a HDMI cable. Then, when you fly your drone, the screen on the iPhone will be displayed on your goggles. If you have an Android phone, just do the same: buying an adapter from your phone to the HDMI slot. That is it! Happy flying!

So I've been a drummer for around 10 years now and I wouldn't recommend learning on vr. You can play a few songs but if you later buy a real drum set (acoustic or electric) you have to re adapt your playing style for the real world. Its fun, sure, but don't use it as a substitution for real drums, also since a good cheap drumset can cost you a fraction of vr headsets.
I downloaded the Plank one, it was so terrifying that it didn't matter that I knew the thing wasn't real! My hand was SWEATING! The santa one was fun, throwing the presents in the chimneys! And the hero flying one was cool.
I did the plank too. Same! I was shreiking! Took 2 steps, looked down and freaked! I wanted to crotch down but couldn't. Got back on that elevator so damn fast!!!
Hi everybody, I have absolutely no experience whatsoever with any VR stuff... Now that I've gotten that out of the way, I would like to find out the best unit for seeing things around the world, these tours or just to be able to look up my old house, what a great idea! I also really liked the idea of what I was seeing for the yoga portion of this video, the underwater scenes etc. That would be amazing! I'm assuming these are all apps? Available for purchase? Does anything come with the VR headset? Are there any websites that can actually show you what you'll be seeing? I have no idea what to even expect, but it sure sounds interesting! I am looking at the meta quest 2, but now I understand there's a 3? Looking forward to any information that will help me understand what this is all about. Thank you!

The quest 3 comes out soon, and the two reasons I'm looking to buy it are the meditation/mindfulness aspectd. And any sort of golf games.

Got the quest 2 a while ago. So many things you can do with it. Archery is brilliant in a game called in death unchained.

You should prob make some adjustments to your headset & lenses. No reason for you not to have an entire field of view with things out of focus.
I’m new to VR, and am receiving my oculus 2 256GB today, can’t wait! I’ve never even used a VR headset but Ive been watching several videos about it and I’d be interested in knowing if anyone using this type of device has ever experienced life changing alterations in perspective. For example, accidentally and momentarily confusing real life events with VR ones; or alterations in dreams confusing dreams as being VR? Id love to hear if this has happened to anyone.

After a few hours of playing poker and laughing and winning/losing money and messing around Wothba cool group of people I took my headset off and kinda tripped out that I was just chillin’ on my back balcony, with my dog laying below my chair, and I was looking at my hands moving them around thinking how it could def be possible this is ALL a simulation LOL.
After using the oculus rift s for some days, I had flashes of displacement of my hand/arm in my perefiral view. My hand wasn't in the position that my brain told me, for a split second. Happened a few times.
bro.. lmao you have such a sugar coated view of VR. I'm sure after getting it you realized it's cool but definitely nothing "life changing". At most your hands and surroundings feel weird for a little after long sessions. It's VERY obvious when you're in VR as the technology is very far from being anything that spectacular. No matter how good the graphics might be, you will still be limited by a small FOV and relatively "low resolution". And you also have a giant device strapped to your head that even in the best possible case is far from comfortable.

honestly if they start offering virtual shopping that's the end of it. That's going to be extremely addictive. They need to improve what they have by 100% though, using naturalism. We need to see the fabric, get a sense of the feel, be able to open things up, look inside. It needs to be less digital looking and more realistic looking. Shops already do virtual tours so it should be an extension of that.

I honestly want a headset that acts like a standalone linux computer and phone replacement in addition to being a cool vr/ar headset. I feel like computers are moving towards integrating into the environment and it would be really nice if that could be more open source.

meditate with a vr headset, you know the type of meditate that has you closing your eyes, so it makes a whole world of sense to put on a vr headset.
I use my psvr for my 3D Blu-rays so get the cinema feeling,movies like king of the monsters in 3d through the psvr is awesome.

VR shopping. You need an app at or of the store, correct? Or, can one person be In the store with VR and the other person at home with an integrated/real time VR watching and speaking with you at the same time? How to make the VR experience in REAL-TIME between two users?
I don't scare easily but I found a game that I my fears in Phasmophobia. I find ghosts terrifying and this game is not just about seeing ghosts and apparitions but you have to wilfully look for them. Scares the hell out of me i can barely play it for long.
You can also use your VR goggles to fly drones.

@@MirceaBoise Hello, please check your drone's app to see whether it supports VR, 3D Studio or something like that. If it does, you could just buy a cheap VR googles, open your drone's app and enters its VR mode (two smaller images), put your phone into the goggles you have, and then you can fly your drone with a cheap VR goggles.
If you have a goggles with HDMI slot, which could be mini HDMI or micro HDMI, then you will need a cable from your phone to that particular HDMI slot. I have an iPhone which does not have a HDMI output. However, don't worry about this. For an iPhone, just buy a Lightning to HDMI adapter (or an more expensive Apple AV adapter which has a HDMI slot), and connect your HDMI capable goggles with your iPhone with a HDMI cable. Then, when you fly your drone, the screen on the iPhone will be displayed on your goggles. If you have an Android phone, just do the same: buying an adapter from your phone to the HDMI slot. That is it!

the thing that drives me mad about VR is the graphics and the floating hands and torsos...so like...they can build this entire amazing immersive world but they can't make an avatar that doesn't look absolutely stupid?

I have the Rift s. It doesn't have cooling so you get hot very quickly. I can't imagine watching an entire movie in vr. It needs fans
Get a fan. Plug it in and blast it in your game play perimeter.
So I've been a drummer for around 10 years now and I wouldn't recommend learning on vr. You can play a few songs but if you later buy a real drum set (acoustic or electric) you have to re adapt your playing style for the real world. Its fun, sure, but don't use it as a substitution for real drums, also since a good cheap drumset can cost you a fraction of vr headsets.

I downloaded the Plank one, it was so terrifying that it didn't matter that I knew the thing wasn't real! My hand was SWEATING! The santa one was fun, throwing the presents in the chimneys! And the hero flying one was cool.
I did the plank too. Same! I was shreiking! Took 2 steps, looked down and freaked! I wanted to crotch down but couldn't. Got back on that elevator so damn fast!!!

Hi everybody, I have absolutely no experience whatsoever with any VR stuff...
Now that I've gotten that out of the way, I would like to find out the best unit for seeing things around the world, these tours or just to be able to look up my old house, what a great idea!
I also really liked the idea of what I was seeing for the yoga portion of this video, the underwater scenes etc. That would be amazing!
I'm assuming these are all apps? Available for purchase? Does anything come with the VR headset? Are there any websites that can actually show you what you'll be seeing? I have no idea what to even expect, but it sure sounds interesting!
