During Covid lockdown when we were isolated, we found two new friends that we could safely spend time with. We live in Orlando. Friends are always coming and going and moving elsewhere. But you're still friends. It's the person that's interesting.

I became enamored with the canals watching another vlogger when I stumbled across your channel. At the same time, I started digging into the history of the UK. Your good friend is absolutely right, people watch you for what you are so whatever you're doing is usually a good reason to watch.
It sounds a bit weird but its not 'stalking', it's more like 'they are interesting people and their videos usually make me smile'. people like me are genuinely interested in what you have to offer and the work invested in your videos, and you provide some sort of blessed escapism.

I don't comment on this platform often but I wanted to thank you for candidly representing as someone with a mental health diagnosis that is still more than capable of full scale production and expression. At the time I found this show, I worked in a similar medium and I may have counted myself out if it weren't, in part, for your openness and efforts on this channel.
I wish others spoke like this. I never imagine any of the viewing figures and subscribers are actually real people. I only ever see the confines of my studio, which can be lonely, and that's why I overthink. Sorry, I'm babbling. Thank you. x

Thanks to you, I've learned a lot about life and its struggles, thanks to you, I saw places I'll never be able to travel to. I missed your vlogs but I assumed you two were busy dealing with other things. Thanks a lot for the explanation but know you don't own us any explanations. Some find pleasure in spreading rumors, that seems to be one of these things humanity will never get rid of. I too find comfort in isolation which during the lockdowns was a blessing. Colin I rarely comment but there were a couple of things you made me realise in listening to you.
1. I enjoy your vlogs in the same way I like certain radio programmes. You make me feel like a couple of friends have dropped in for a chat. I need to try to find your radio station.
2. Thank you for the Aha moment about isolating myself. I like my own company but it can become a lonely place at times.
There….. I’ve not told you to take a break, or what to do but I have told you why you make a difference even when you struggle to see why that is.
Great news on your plans to travel. Would love to hear the history of some new places but only if you can balance the private part of your travels too.

Thanks Colin. Personally, I do most enjoy your history and story telling, and that is what originally attracted me to your channel when you were on the cut. But life on the croft is also interesting, and gives me an opportunity to live vicariously a life that didn't come to fruition for me. One thing that has been consistent on the channel from the canals to the highland is that no matter what any individual video has been about they have all "told a story". I think that is what many successful channels have in common no matter the subject. Lots of people make videos about trains but I watch Geoff Marshal because his have a narrative to them. Lots of people make videos about canals but I started watching Foxes Afloat because yours had a narrative to them. That hasn't changed, so now while lots of people probably make videos about smallholdings/life in the highlands/rescued birds... yours have a narrative to them and that makes them interesting. You are storytellers.

I started watching at the beginning of the Covid event. I retired in 2015 but worked part-time as an on-call fill-in when someone called in sick or a special event was occurring. So I discovered CZcams because of Covid. You guys were one of the first channels I watched without fail. I live in California and never knew anything about narrowboats. Your Vlogs were a kind of vacation tour for me. You guys became my friends because I now know so much about the two of you even though you know nothing of me. I watch because it is a visit with friends. When I was young, I had goals and expectations. Well, the goals changed along the way, life brought me unexpected changes and I rolled with the punches. Like everyone else, there was good and bad. Now I am just living life and enjoying what comes. When I wake up, I know I have another day to enjoy. So Enjoy your life. I'll be there as long as I am invited.

Speaking for myself, I watch you and Shaun because you are a lovely couple of fellas, I'm a similar age with similar values and can relate to you both. Being a farmer on a small holding about an hour outside Adelaide in South Australia I often feel lonely and isolated. Watching CZcamsrs like you is like a visit with friends. So whether you're on a boat, on a croft or frolicking naked in a loch, I'm less lonely when you're about. So thank you both.

it is about you and S...(hmmm, I'l spell him wrong) its about you and him, always has been, thats why most of us are here, you become part of our lives, we enjoy the content no matter what, the croft, the boat,,,the train room... Train room?? hmmm..personally waiting for the train room as model trains is part of my life, it's what I have been doing for the last 30 years as a proffession....so, yeah, hopefully someday, but don't feel pressured..too much. Just keep doing what you do, we love you both!

I have watched you two for several years now and find that I enjoy not just because you are fun and entertaining, but it has become like hanging out with friends. I like to see whatever you are pursuing no matter what projects you embark on. Also I have learned a lot from your discussions of mental health issues and have realized that I share many of Colin's issues even though I have never been told I am on the spectrum.
