You know what I love about your channel? zero pretentiousness! the great food that we all love to eat, but don't know how to make. Explained the way normal people can understand and your recipes actually work. Please don't get all bougie as you grow lol...it's your authenticity and 'everyday people-ness' that I and I suspect many others, like about you. :D and, I have that same IKEA bowl set, they're freakin' amazing lol. Thanks from a Quebecois boy who now knows how to make great cornbread!!

I've always been terrible at making cornbread, I started out with a recipe from the circa 1980 cookbook my dad bought me as a moving out present (when I was 17). More recently, since COVID I started trying new different recipes, one from a flour mill, others from CZcams and this one OMG hands down the best. IT was soooo tasty, and also easy to make! I just made this recipe tonight but I used 3/4 cornmeal, 3/4 all purpose flour and 1/2 cup corn flour, extra 1.5 Tbsp of butter in the batter & extra 2 Tbsp in the cast iron. Baked it for 20 min. Then brushed the top with butter and broil it until the top is golden brown. It was crisp all around but moist and melt in your mouth 😋👍🏻👍🏻
The last time I made a cornbread (another recipe), I ended up eating most of it bcuz no one really liked it... this time it was hard for everyone to stop eating this yummy deliciousness!! ❤️😋😋😋❤️

been looking for the basic recipe for a long time I grew up on regular cornbread a trick I remember from when i was a kid my family would melt the butter or heat up the oils before they added to the mix I never forgot because it was fascinating to me that they poured hot all in a plastic bowl and it didn’t melt the bowl I understand now that i’m older the mix cooled it down and that trick was to help it mix better

I just made this recipe and I think it is a pretty good cornbread recipe. It turned out just like in the video with the nice thick fluffy cornbread and the nice golden bottom even though I didn’t have a cast iron pan and I just used a glass pan it still turned out good. It’s a pretty versatile cornbread since it has a good balance of salty and sweet. I normally like sweeter cornbreads so I think I’ll add more sugar next time, but for this first taste I wanted to try the original recipe how it was and I really enjoyed it and will definitely make this again. I definitely recommend this recipe because it tasted good and it was easy to make. Thank you for sharing! 👍🏼😋

I have not watched this video, but please let me tell you how this differs from my cornbread, just from looking at it. First, most Southerners use white stone ground cornmeal……not yellow. Another point……your cornbread may be delicious, but our personal preference is making a cornbread that is very THIN and very CRISPY……on both sides. This means…..crispy not only on the edges, but all the way to the center. CRISPY. This point of view comes from an 8th generation elderly Southern gal from Georgia.❤️

OMG! This is the best cornbread recipe ever!! I used to love eating cornbread when I was little, and have not had one in over 20 years. I didn't know how easy to bake it. Thank you for this wonderful, tasty recipe. It brought back a lot of memories for me. We just finished our Thanksgiving dinner with my family of 5 today, 11/25/2021, and there are only 2 pieces left over. I will have it as a dessert with a hot cup of tea later. My son already requested for me to show him how to make it for his friend's party over the weekend. Many thanks from our family to yours. This is one of our best dishes that we have on our Thanksgiving Day!!!
BTW, to answer the question from one of your previous comments. I did not let the mixer cools down on the skillet, but put it in the oven right away as instructed from your video.

I made cornbread using ur recipe this morning . This was my first time making it, I used brown sugar instead. It came out so good and is so delicious, golden brown, buttery n fluffy! I'm still surprised. Great recipe now I'm addicted😊

Loved this twice so far! I add a bit of vinegar to whole milk (buttermilk) and then add honey. Top with honey and butter after it comes out of the oven. Yum.

So this is a good video. So I like it. So i watched it a few times. So it turned out good. So the butter was yummy on the bottom. So someone did make some nice food. So I liked it warm from the oven. So I had some with butter and jam. SO i ate about half the pan for lunch. So that was delicious. So this is a good recipe to have ready when bread runs short. So I like mine with chili and a nice salad. So just a lettuce wedge. So that's about all for now. So thanks for the recipe.. So it was so so so so so so tasty. So you did a great job. So I hope you have a nice day. So bye bye for now. So long. So TTFN to. So so so so so so happy I found this recipe.

I tried this recipe for tonight's dinner. Best cornbread I've made from scratch. I used half of the recipe and baked it in my cast iron skillet. Next time I'll use even less sugar. Not sure why but one side crumbled a little when I took it out of the skillet. It's very good! Thanks for sharing your video.
