Please SUBSCRIBE to my CZcams Caribbean cooking channel today. My name is Fay DeLeon and I'm a Jamaican grandmother who loves to cook for her family. I started making Jamaican cooking lesson videos to teach my daughter Angela how to make traditional Jamaican recipes. Thank you for letting me into your kitchens, too! - Jak na to + styl
I made this banana fritters today for the first time and my son loved it. He gave me a big hug! I was impressed. I think everyone should have ago and try it. But I added a little bit of desicated coconut to the batter mixture.
My family is Jamaican my grandmother use to make this for me all the time growing up, it's one of the things I make for my kids and it never occurred to me this was a Caribbean recipe. I share this thought because not too long ago my birth mother accussed me of not making enough traditional meals to help my kids learn about their heratage this video just taught me a lesson that I have in fact been teaching my kids a a traditional meals that one day they can pass down. Love your videos.
She's so sweet like my grandma
+LETSFAYCEIT thank you sweetie!
This is *the best* recipe! As soon as I saw brown sugar and nutmeg, I knew it was gonna be special!😋 thank you dear lady.
Makes me miss my mom
In the kitchen with my 5 yr old daughter making your recipe right now! Thank you....can't wait to finish!
Now Aunty Fay, I am from the Caribbean, As I sit here typing with one hand and eating my banana fritters with the other, I am soo disappointed that the batter only made 12. I had to share with 3 other people. Wait my brother just grabbed and ran with one of mine. Going to deliver a beat down and I'll be right back.
Now as I was saying , I Loved the fritters, I subscribed to youtube and on the website and guess what I saw? Jamaican stew peas and rice, pumpkin chicken soup, sweet potato pudding and the list goes on.. Now how am I suppose to keep on my diet with you making all these good ole comfort foods from way back when, with very accurate recipes. feels like i am in the kitchen with you in your videos. Fay you have a very happy subbie. :)

princessprecious Phillip next time don’t make any call to ur friends cook your food and eat quickly and don’t forget to clean your mouth lol
hahahaha, that is sooooo funny!!!
When I was growing up in the UK as a boy we couldn't get enough of Banana fritters, from our parents. Then when we got our pocket money some of it was used to build bicycles from scratch. The rest to buy patties if available Banana fritters if not back in the day when the Twinkle Brothers. Was very big with the tune Jahovia!
I cannot get over how much I love this channel. Great recipes!
Thanks for your kind words and support Gary
I love this lady!! I will be cooking like a Jamaican in no time!!! Thank you!
Angela - your mother is precious and you have blessed me with how you interact with your mom from behind the camera. Thank-you,
Your awesome. Brought back memories of my grandmother cooking in JA when I was a little girl.
I have 3 super ripe bananas and looked for "Aunty" Faye to teach me what to do!. Thanks to you Ive learned several of our traditional dishes🥰🥰
Aww you are such a sweetheart. You remind me of my mom and grandmother. Thank you for this recipe!
God bless you Mumz! Wow, such a sweet sweet spirit!
When I first met my husband's parents 15 years ago I was a nervous wreck but they both had such marvelously infectious personalities, Irish and Jamaican go together very nicely, that we got along perfectly and you remind me a lot of her!! I love this recipe, it's the first thing she taught me to make saying "it's so easy even a white boy can do it"!! I'm not a fan of bananas unless they're still green, in a DQ Split, my mom's banana bread OR mom-in-law's fritters. I'm glad I caught this early, we have some over-ripe bananas that I had planed to use in banana bread BUT I'll surprise hubby for breakfast!! Thanks Fay, always a treat seeing your videos!!!!!!!!!!
+46619TAB everyone loves these fritters! What a nice surprise for hubby. Enjoy!

What a lovely mother! Great food made by a lovely, Jamaican gentlewoman. Pure old school. I want to eat at your place!
My Auntie used to make these allot when I was a kid for breakfast but you can eat them anytime. I used to steal these and eat them as fast as she would take them from out the frying pan. They were so delicious i just couldn't resist stealing them.

Thanks for sharing !
Aaaah. This is one of the first dishes my late granny taught me as well! We use a slightly beaten egg to bind and a little less flour -- and raisins. We top it with sour cream. So yummy.
I love the recipe and its simple method; I too do not use baking powder or soda. I also love how you just use a fork to turn them over... maintains better control than a spatula. Thanx huge for sharing your way!!!! I've converted :)
Thanks for your video. I just came across your channel. I will be trying some of your recipes. I like how you make everything very simple so that it is easy to follow. This is the only way for our foods not to be lost.
