OKAY This was confusing for everyone but we figured it out. FAWE pulled a fast one on MiningBlob. And then I misunderstood how it was supposed to work. Here's chrono order: MiningBlob pasted the walls with "tall" set for each cardinal direction. Even though it's *impossible* for a 4x tall wall to be an up-wall... FAWE still made it an up wall by default!! Then I tried triggering the mining detector and all the observers went off at once which I thought was intentional (it was not) Then I determined that the walls were never meant to trigger all the observers at once. Now we are left here in this awkward situation. Have a good day I guess lol.
The walls aren't supposed to update every wall, the reason blob said "the detector triggers in multiple locations" is because the detector uses zenos his hammer proof roof detector design, witch sends signals to the side as well as down so even if only 1 wall update it would still trigger basically everywhere. (so yeah, fawe moment) Edit: The last escape wouldn't work because (even if the walls obey the laws of physics) it still triggers everything so it would still activate the suicide bans.
yeah a lot of fans either come from the prison showcases/escapes or his escape puzzles/debunk videos there completely different topics if you don't fit in either group then probably nothing makes sense
1:21 not sure if this is possible in survival but if u were to place a wall with every tag as false it would be invisible like moving piston except if u place a block next to it, it would become visible again
ok but why would you need a wall if you could just use observers directly? Alternatively if you need a water lay just use waterlogged budded rails, since it actually is possible to bud them in vanilla (and quite easy ontop of that and they also behave similar to the walls all updating at once). Also there is another problem with update suppression with updating that many walls!

ACTUALLY! THIS IS POSSIBLE, AND ITS VERY SIMPLE! 1. Obtain Operator on the server. 2. /gamemode creative 3. /give @s debug_stick 4. Figure out how the hell a debug stick works 5. Make. 6. Realise it doesnt work.

It's probably possible to do something like that in survival using update supression (or update freezing)
