True freedom is being your true self without having to wear any masks.
Wearing metaphorical masks keeps us out of touch with our own feelings and our authentic selves.
We wear masks, because we fear others will see who we really are. We need to protect ourselves from their judgment and emotional assault, fearing we will expose our weaknesses, fearing we won't be good enough, fearing we won't belong.
As I age, I noticed people that don't wear masks seems to have more freedom and happier.
A big man in his 40s sitting next to me at the airport in pre-departure area was quietly crying. The pain he was going through was so obvious by the looked of his face. I calmly told him to let me me know it I could do anything for him. He asked for a tissue paper if I had any and luckily I didn't throw the leftover table napkins that I got with the sandwiches I bought. He felt so comfortable telling me his troubles. He was sad to be away from his family & friends but he needed to go abroad to work. I instantly liked the man. I thought he could be a good friends because he was kind, transparent and has a pure heart and innocence in him. But he is a very strong man physically and in character. He supports his sick mother, his own family and young siblings and send them to school. We became good friends and I learned to unmask myself and there's nothing like being your authentic self. I attracted people who really like me for who I am and not for the mask that I wore and I am a lot happier.
This should be taught to kids in school and at home and parents should also learn to be authentic and get rid of whatever pretentious masks they are wearing. My father died in old age wearing masks and he died without people knowing him for what he really was and that's so sad.

Uh. I love the service and contributions mask 😁😂
Honestly. I wear some of those masks sometimes. I get respect, lead and my advice gets deeper using the alpha mask. I get better grades with the know-it-all mask. I have more adventures while travelling with the invincible mask. I have more fun with the joker mask when I'm with my friends and family. I am more disciplined and switched on with the aggressive mask. I have a hell of a time dancing and getting to know all the ladies with the sexual mask. I get more disciplined and make things real when I put on the material mask. And I can help others and myself solve problems with the stoic mask.
All those masks are useful and there are so many more, and I believe that's okay. Those masks are nothing more than effective behaviorial patterns we adapted to make the most out of specific situations and environments. Our "personality" is fluid. It's a brand.
I wouldn't recommend judging these masks.
The service this book gives us is to show and remind us that all of those aren't our real selves. We are infinite beings of energy experiencing a human life. Or if you want it less spiritual and more practical. The book tells you to let the fuck go of trying to look a certain way, and get to know what's beneath those masks. What's the time you can most let go of your masks? How does it feel? How would you describe yourself in those moments?

100% agreed Momo. The idea of this video was not to prove that these masks are inherently bad for all men. It's a reminder or "wake-up call" for men out there to be aware of these different facades. Like you said, these facades are illusionary in a spiritual sense. I put up certain masks from time to time and I love it, but I also realize how good it feels to put them off and become a humble human being. Hope this makes sense:)
      Thanks for your detailed comment!

We all wear masks, and it's ok, I guess, in terms of "social survival", the problem is when ego gets in your way in cultivating healthy relationships, when you host resentment and are unwilling to work on that, when you choose pride over respecting others, etc. Men who are honest, humble and not afraid to show their vulnerability, are waaaay more attractive.

Explain how number 2 is not every professional athlete? It's a scarfice to achieve greatness but is that really a mask? Or is sour grapes by a failed amateur athletes.
