This is an important topic. Why aren’t more people viewing this? CT scans have 100x more radiation than a normal XRay.

I asked an orthopedic surgeon for an MRI of my finger injury which he said was not needed. He also told me X-Rays, MRI's are harmful. He said X-Rays have ionizing radiation and paraphrasing - said the MRI scan pulls the atoms to one side of the cell. I went to a different surgeon and asked for the MRI. The MRI was done and the report showed I didn't need the MRI. I'm very thankful the doctor warned me, although I did not follow his advice back then. His warning prompted me to research online. Scans have saved lives, but the patient should be told the risk verses benefit prior to a scan. I have thyroid nodules that continue to grow, that may have been caused by the X-Rays, scans and contrast dyes. If I had known the danger, I would have declined many of them.

So a Full CARDIAC MRI Heart scan is way better for detecting Plaque in Arteries *Atherosclerosis Disease* than the supposed C.T Angiogram right? just double checking since i found out a C.T heart scan on *Chest* is 100 times more Radiation than normal conventional chest X-ray from Dr Mercola's website. i think i will stick to a MRI full Heart scan with ZERO radiation. Can you elaborate few more Doctor?
    Thanks God Bless, Daniel

What about the ultrasound heart test for a function or abnormalities? Is that technology OK as far as harm to a body

You can have metal inside your body and have an MRI provided that the metal is non-ferrous. So if you've had a hip replacement and you have a titanium post, there was no problem having an MRI. To say any metal in your body is no good is a misstatement.

Dr. Mandell, my child who is 4 years of age has been referred for a CT scan to find out whether his hearing loss in one ear can be progressive. Could that clinical question be answered with a different test that does not have radiation?
Thank you for your time and for sharing this information.

10 to 20 mgy or msv. A huge dose of radiation. The same amount of radiation as many Hiroshima survivors in just one scan. I learned the hard way and suffered from radiation sickness after mine. Get an mri or uktrasound next time
