No one improves their english this fast. Props to Käärijä!
Finnish people are quite apprehensive about speaking it if they haven't practiced much, but he's had 2 full weeks of ONLY speaking English. It's also not the most difficult language and you can understand it quite well, even if you don't speak it.
I feel I am fairly good in English, when it comes to reading or writing, but if I had to suddenly speak English I would suck so much. I think pronouncing English is as hard for us as pronouncing Finnish is for English speakers. For example I don't think Spanish or Swedish is that hard to pronounce as English is. And it is not just the pronunciation, you need to change your way of thinking in a way to get your speech flowing because the grammar is so different. But I think that after two weeks of using English I think it would become lot easier.

@@JadedKate Not quite, but over the years it’s been getting more and more popular as artists like Måneskin and songs like Arcade and Snap become popular via things like TikTok. Plus there was the movie and the American Song Contest, so baby steps! We’re getting there.

@@JadedKatenope definitely not at the same level of Australia, very few people are even aware of ESC still! The time difference is kind of nice though, the finals start at 3pm so it’s a fun day party 😊 (On the east coast anyway!)
Ther reason why many people don't believe him the story about how he lost his costume is that in most countries people would don't bother to return it but simply would immediately try to sell it :D
FINNISH PEOPLE ARE HONEST. AND IT WAS ON THE NEWS WHEN HE WENT TO MEET THE FAMILY WHO FOUD HIS BOLERO. LATER KÄÄRIJÄ SAID HE WANTED TO TALK WITH THE FAMILY PRIVATLY AND PLAY SOME GAMES WITH THE KIDS, BUT THE MEDIA JUST CAME THERE ALSO.

Actually it's not... Weird how people have taken a reseach comparing welfare benefits, lack of corruption etc. (where Finland became 1st) so bloody literally, when those things have actually nothing to do with actual *happiness* 😂😂
@@elvinam888 I agree that Finland's ranking has been misinterpreted/misreported but benefits and corruption *very* much affect happiness. Look for example at the effects of poverty and disability rights. Iirc both Gallup's World Happiness Report (and probably its other publications) and Our World In Data show well how both those and corruption and other related things affect wellbeing on national levels.
When Käärijä was younger, he was very ill. After he recovered he decided to fulfill his dreams. Maybe that’s why he is so positive

At the time when the Käärijä lost his outfit, it was still winter in Finland. Finnish winter is really cold and snowy and icy. I think that what happened here was that the car trunk lock had frozen shut and the door had not closed. Fortunately, the winter in Finland has already ended many weeks ago. Happy spring to all Eurovision fans🤗

Finns are typically good at English grammar and writing but they are shy to speak it, Käärijä is the complete opposite of that. I love how confidently he expresses himself even though his English isn't perfect. His vocabulary has grown a lot in such a short time. 👏
