We should all make a petition to take away the licensing Aspyr got to make this and hand it over to the members of the battlefront community who are familiar with game development and design as they would do a way better job and gladly sell it for a more reasonable price as they are passionate about theses games and love them.

The control is pretty solid back in the og versions, you can compare if you have both OG and this CC, either PC or old gen consoles. I have no idea what they did with the CC BF2, but the control is beyond terrible.
Surprisingly, CC BF1 control/movement is much better then BF2, so it is probably a thing within the files of the game.
I wasn’t planning on buying this right away and assumed it would be a disaster but my friend was super hyped to play it so I spent $31 on it and now we’re no longer friends

The worst part for me was the 2-3 minute matches. I would go out, try to find enemies, shoot, and I would get victory or defeat screen almost immediately every single game.
Its absolutely ridiculous how difficult it is to get a friend to join my game. Takes like 3 restart applications and 2 game crashes to work.
Mine kept crashing to the home screen while looking for a lobby.
You must feel pretty good to be able to play galactic conquest. I can’t even play that because I can’t turn off inverted controls. MY FAVORITE MODE RUINED all because they were too lazy to put an invert Y axis option.

My ps5 crashed 6 times in the first hour of playing.
On PC, not only has there been working non-region locked multiplayer for years, but you can fully mod the game to improve appearance and to add content like the Kit Fisto and Ventress along with all the BF1 maps that the classic collection added to BF2, it's so funny how good PC players have been blessed for so long with the battlefront games.
And custom maps and factions. I have old republic maps and factions on mine.
I refunded the game and I used microsoft points it got refunded back info my account after contacting Microsoft
I really hope Saber is bought from Embracer Group, they are some of the greatest “small” development teams, they made two of the most impressive ports to the switch (The Witcher 3 and Kingdom Come Deliverance) and those are not small achievements

Im still gonna go for the Platinum trophy but yeah the first day I had an absolute blast but then I truly saw glitches of the maps and yeah I wondered why the sensitivity is awful plus in hero assault for some reason, the light side always wins. Until they fix this game I’m probably gonna reinstall the EA version and play that cause the overall gameplay is far smoother

The part about how slow the turning is is completely accurate. I tried flying a big clone ship from Attack of the Clones and got wiped out fast.

I had a working Assault game going on Xbox. Playing Aayla I got low and a Ventress smelled blood starting to CHASE me though they caught the end of a nasty 360 lightsaber throw.
My buddy bought it before me, and played 2 games, noticed he wasn't hitting shots that should hit that were going through people, then he killed himself on a invisible wall, logged and refunded that second.
Pc bf2 classic on steam, $9.99. Live servers , multiple mods that make it look better than this collection port. Just sayin....

I haven t researched this release at all, but it just seems like a straight re-port.. What did they add, higher resolution for modern tv's and monitors?
I mean it depends, for consol players like myself, this game is unbelievable. We finally got multiplayer back after 2 decades of waiting, with new graphics that dont ruin the esthetic of the game, new characters, new maps and new game mods. And although battlefront 2 is a bit laggy, bf 1 runs perfectly fine and all lobbies are plenty of players. I had a blast playing it. (Im on xbox btw but i heard switch players didn't had any issues either)
What I don't understand, is why didn't they actually TRY to make this how people were expecting? What is there to gain in being lazy (and duplicitous....), why not put some passion into it and make it a game we all wanted to play???
I’m honestly so confused why this game was so bad, the tomb raider remasters have turned out really great mind you there’s no online but it was a lot of what this game was doing, facelift (tomb raiders was more extensive mind you), adding once exclusive content so it’s accessible to all versions and with some slight improvements to certain aspects of gameplay.
Yes they are two different games but other than that really I would think this collection should have been fine, I don’t understand how they managed to have it backfire so badly on them. This would have been my first time actually owning the og second battlefront game and hey the switch version is considered the best version currently because it lacks the amount of issues that the other versions do.
Regardless I’m really disappointed. I hope they can fix these issues because I would like to get the game but at this rate I’m only going to once the major issues are fixed.

Allow me to remind people,
3 campaigns, few bugs, nothing really gamebreaking
2 galactic conquests, few bugs, nothing that can't be handled
2 instant actions, still a few minor bugs
All of these when on pc, easy to remote play together with a friend with no additional bugs compared to purely singleplayer
2 multiplayer instant actions, one of the smallest portions of the game that is being worked on and fixed from its fairly buggy release. Sure shouldn't have been so buggy to begin with, but will be worth when it is fixed. At least they aren't just staying silent and not doing anything about it.
The issue here is that this is a 20 year old game. None of this should have been an issue to begin with! From bugs on the single player to the problems in multiplayer. It’s very sad to think that they couldn’t even get a simple port right. This isn’t a brand new game people are willing to stick around and wait on bug fixes for. This should’ve been near perfect from the start.
@@jaydenpena012 You say that like it is as simple as copy paste and send. chances are in order to make the port work exactly as they wanted, split screen, high res textures, and giant multiplayer battles, all of that in one package, they had to change the engine, add a bunch more pathfinding and ai code for all the maps heros vs villains got, all while making sure the maps were still navigateable, the weapons didn't break, and the players are still killable. As a game dev myself, we have a little saying, if something can go wrong, it will. if something can break, it will. if everything goes perfectly, we haven't found the bugs yet.

Nonsense. This is about as close to copy-paste as you can get. AI did all the upscaling so they didn't even have to work for that. Yes there's lots of single player content, but they were already there on 2004 and 05. Aspyr deserve no credit for not fixing any bugs (and introducing plenty more) in 29 year-old games
I'm glad the KOTOR remake was cancelled. The devs were literally bragging about how they intended to be as disrespectful to the original as possible.

Does anyone else have controller drift issues when playing this? My character keeps going left and sometimes in other directions to when I barely touching the analog stick. I've tried 3 controllers with the same results.

I’ve got a question I’m playing on ps5 I don’t care about the online crap I prefer offline play for this game so it’s fine but my question is does classic collection made the bots stronger and Clone commandos chain gun weaker? I got the OG game on all platforms and on the series X I could go and slaughter 50 droids with any class on single life and on the ps5 I get Insta killed the bots have like perfect rocket and grenade accuracy’s
I play on Xbox series x, and I've logged several hours in single player and multi-player in both BF1 & BF2 on the Classic Collection. I haven't experienced any bugs as far as match making and network stability. Full disclosure: servers are pretty empty. There's only about 1 server for both BF1 & BF2 with a decent population. I've never once experienced any graphical bugs such as missing textures or assets or anything like that. I have experienced some audio bugs tho, like the Mos Eisley cantina theme playing on hero assault on the death star for no reason. Then when I died there was no audio at all whatsoever. They did alter the audio for the Bf1 loading screen from the og audio. (For me that's not that much of a big deal.) I have not tried the campaign for bf2, but a lot of people are saying that many of the cut scenes are missing from the og version. I own the original battlefront games on ps2 and I've been a fan my whole life. Played the ea games as well. Take it from me; it's not as bad as many people make it out to be. Gamers are gonna find every reason to dislike something cause we absolutely love to nitpick, especially on nostalgic titles such as Battlefront. Remember; the online multi-player on the steam versions for bf2 were a mess too. My opinion? A light 5/10
Also: I say all that to say that the classic collection is certainly not without its faults. Another thing I forgot to mention in my last comment is that I have on fact experienced a glitch where when I get fragged with thermal detonator, I just freeze in place and can't move if I survive the grenade. If I die then I just respawn as per usual. It only happens when you get damaged by a grenade but don't outright die from it. It happens quite a bit. Hero Assault doesn't work well on all the maps. Sometimes the ai likes to just run into the wall
I was playing privately with some friends the other night and that seemed to work ok but I just gave it another go tonight in public matchmaking. The servers were pretty dead save but 2 or 3 but when I tried to search for a specific game mode or map, it just kept crashing me back to the Xbox home screen. The few games I did play were pretty laggy. The look sensitivity at max still felt like I was trying to aim while submerged in tar.
Yeah, I put in for a refund. If Aspyre fixes their issues, I may be convinced to buy it again but as of now, a port of a game this old shouldn't be having so many issues.

I will also say that it seems very difficult on this game to link up with friends. And nothing will ever compare to the live streams that you did with battlefront 2 on the PS4 and inviting members of the community. I remember one game in particular we were on Kashyyyk at night playing as the Republic and ABSOLUTELY DOMINATED. Amazing what can happen when everyone is actually engaging in teamwork and communicating
I can’t seem to change the vertical Y-axis on the camera control R3 freelook on the PS5. Tried changing it in console settings but it didn’t work for me and I didn’t play the game. Anyone else know how to change this?

I played about an hour of campaign on release then went to bed. The next day, my save was corrupted so I had to start again. After that I didn't have too many technical issues with the campaign other than the invisible balcony and the audio jumpscares. I personally didn't run into the Utapau bug. But my god, multiplayer is a janky mess
This is why I can’t get excited for “new” games/movies anymore their either broken or worthless even when it’s a re done version of something I love 😞

I still remember what they did to the kotor 2 port. I bought it and pretty much forgot about it for like a year because I didn't wanna play with the bugs on release and also I wanted a playthrough with the cut content restored just to come back to the game and realize they appearently canceled it and didn't even offer refunds.... (and I still got duped by battlefront)
I'm glad you didn't experience countless audio glitches like I did (well, you didn't mention any in the video at least), I had mute blaster fire and horrendous background noise out of nowhere, especially in ship hangars, I couldn't enjoy the game even in Single Player. :( Also, the screen glitch after your character dies literally made me sick.
The amount of coping i see on reddit and youtube comments is crazy. I held off on buying this and i doubt i will now that I've seen their response
I was furious about this. Contacted playstation for a refund, told them in 15 minutes had to start 3 matches that all got disconnected - not even multiplayer, it was split scren. Waited over an hour for an agent on the chat and they refused. Never again will I pre-order. This is becoming way too common.

You can’t play splitscreen on the original pc port. The new one you can play mods with splitscreen and i love it!

Very surprised that you didn’t mention that HALF of the Rise of the Empire cutscenes are missing from the game as of the time this video was made. The cutscenes at the end of every mission simply weren’t playing at all.

Saber successfully left embracer a week or two ago. It also seems by the terms of the sale, they are the sole party involved with kotor remake besides Lucasfilm and Sony, obviously.

And its a old game, so more difficult than modern games. No auto aim buddy. There is nothing wrong with the hit detection. 😂

@Lego_clone_trooper it's on elite difficulty, turned it off at polis Massa because there were enemy bots literally just running past me til I shot at them, and my team were all just hanging at the cp

I was so excited for this too, pre-ordered it against my better judgement just because Battlefront 2 was my childhood and my need to replay this outweighed the cost. Needless to say I refunded it after half an hour. It's incredible how they failed to simply port two 20 year old games.

They need to fix the cut scenes from the campaign. Online invite system for friends and lobbies. It's embarrassing because mods can do this on pc.

Og Xbox SWbf1 and 2 on insignia is way more stable than this. Even my og swbf2 on my Xbox series x without multiplayer still functions perfectly.
Hard disagree here game will be fixed with the month and the updated graphics are far better than the original also everything I have played has hardly been buggy 🤷🏻♂️ also never crashed

I wasn't gonna buy the game launch, especially not with ps store not having refunds, but while everyone (and I know I'm an absolute minority in that case) is focusing on MP bugs, I'm here hating Aspyr cause they've yet to adress the issues with the campain bugs.

Yea man 100% agree, you nailed it. I did try to refund it but PlayStation denied it. Aspyr would need to issue a formal statement that the game is faulty, but their statement fell short of actually stating that. I actually feel ripped off.
