  • Since being released from federal prison for her role in the college admissions scandal, Lori Loughlin has returned to work on the Hallmark Channel. Plus, her daughter Olivia Jade is on the latest season of “Dancing with the Stars.” But is it all too soon? Does Hollywood reward bad behavior based on what you look like?

This whole situation will always be ridiculous to me. Lori and Mossimo had more than enough money to hire tutors over the years so their daughters could get the grades to EARN a college education.

Exactly. Sunny Hostin from The View asked "how mediocre must you be to have access to the best education but still not be able to get into a top university on your own merit?

They didn't even have to do that. So many high profile universities will allow you to "donate" your kids' way in. They could have built a new wing of the library or something at whichever place they wanted their kids to attend.
On top of all that, before she even began college Olivia was already having the type of business success that people hope to gain after getting a degree. This whole thing was about two privileged, stuck up rich people who felt like their kids just weren't good enough as they were, so they paid someone to falsify a scenario that they felt they could brag about.

Right it's like. The Girl knew that she is not a rower! She knew what was going on. Don't you still have to have an interview for college? I would think that someone would have asked her about rowing.

People don't always know what their parent's are doing. I speak on that because I experienced that since I was a victim of attempted rape and exploitation as a kid. To this very day because of those situations I am in a human trafficking program and the things happening right after that and before I aged out of fostercare were done to me because of who I am and who I am related to. I wouldn't know about a situation if the police involvement happened while I was underaged. In my situation, that is the case.
We all judge and want to know things that are none of our business. Who is to say that nothing happened to the daughter? That is why, in order to get help she has to take on a crime that people who don't want to help are hiding? The possibilities with some people are endless of what they will do to others to survive. Its so hypocritical.

I'm glad Loni mentioned Felicity Hoffman, because she/her family had the same allegations against them. But she did the right thing in response to the situation. She was remorseful/apologized, she did what time they gave her (if you'd like to call it that), and she also paid in full for the students (that got there on their own grades/merit) who would otherwise be scraping, scrounging and struggling to pay for their education in those schools. Lori Loughlin on the other hand, refused and defied it all. And still chose to use her privilege in the situation. We see you Aunt Becky.

What people don’t get is it’s not even so much about race, rather than power. These are very powerful people. And people saying “she did her time move on” no she did not. If a poor person or a person of a lesser class did this, they would be sent to prison for YEARS. Not months. And they would be listed as a felon and probably wouldn’t be able to get another job. So yea, it’s messed up that they got a slap on the wrist. They literally committed fraud and got away with it.

And that just me keeping it real ! The fact that it’s been two years and all of a sudden now we want to be forgiving… I was already annoyed with Olivia being interviewed on Red Table Talk taking “ accountability “ in front of three generations of black women thinking she could fool us with the pretty privileged naive white girl act… and then now she’s on DWTS… what u do going forward is ur business but I also have the right not to support and speak out and not be a consumer because of the wack stuff you did ! I agree with the hosts, their status is definitely a representation of white privilege that is still very apparent in our society.

And the part that pisses me off is that she was like “I didn’t do anything a mother wouldn’t do for their child.” What kind of message or lesson is that? There are plenty of mothers who want their kids to work/earn their way into college not buy their way in. The fact that you don’t have faith in your kids to get in on their own intelligence says alot ab what kind of mother she is. I understand that life goes on but let’s not act like what she did was okay. Her reputation is forever ruined whether she continues to work or not.

Without so much as a I'll pay for someone's college tuition. Etc .....and again if that was someone of color rich or not the results would be alot different! She didn't get enough punishment I agree with that.....but I also agree with the fact it has alot to do with money and power. A middle class or less person would be done for, years in prison , felony record and unable to work which is terrible but it's reality. Especially for people of color and/or people less fortunate.
N fyi that student WOULD HAVE gotten it had Lori and her family not interfered! That has nothing to do with God. That has to do with somebody who got something they didn't deserve and they got it a malicious way....doesn't matter if you rich or poor fraud and bribery is a crime.
