Maurice Ravel, Marble Music Box (for Paul ! 🎹😊)

Handmade music / marble box.
The tune you hear when you wind it up is the Bolero.
The mechanism of the music box is also used to lift the 30 steel balls.
Inside you can read : "Ravel", so the marbles "write" the composer's name.
You can also put yourself a marble in it, and then appears suddenly the little boy (in this case: Le Petit Prince) at the right side of the box. Put another marble in, and the boy disappear again.
The tree is moving, as are two cats, the big dancing clock, and Ida Rubinstein dances her dance.
On the backside you can see a beautiful painting of Maurice Ravel, and you can see the marbles also roll along the outside of the musicbox. In the rail of the track you can see a print or the world famous rhythm of the Bolero 🎶
This musicbox is made from november 2012-July 2013 and was about 170 hours of work.
The tracks are made of colored paper /cardboard.

De speeldoos was hier voor wat naloopwerk en schoonmaken, dus het is helaas geen nieuwe die ik heb gemaakt. Maar ooit hoop ik weer de "spirit" te krijgen zo'n speeldoos voor mijzelf te maken (heb er vijf gemaakt, maar alle verkocht, dus heb er geeneen thuis).
