I had a friend who taught me how to use a piece of PVC as a didgeridoo. It works incredibly well. And I figured out how to make it sound like a vuvezela with more forceful blowing. Much to the dismay of my cats and neighbours. I could never get the dang circular breathing down, though. In order to get a steady sound out of the didgeridoo, apparently you have to somehow breathe in through your nose, while continuing to breathe out through your mouth. Which I kind of get, if I fill my mouth with air I can get maybe a second to inhale, but it runs out before I can take a proper breath.
I think a didgeridoo would sound better. :) I am not sure if I could master the circle breathing any time soon. good luck on trying.
We have it planned for our troop to make them next month. I am sure i will be getting some hate mail from some of the parents.

yes. the first time we did them was in cub scouts. I still get parents ask me. Why did you do that? Too good. So i did it again with the troop. Just in case they could not find their old one, they would have a fresh one. I am sure they just love me. :)
If you use a bike tube instead of a plastic bag it makes it really loud and durable. It’s a little harder to blow but makes a really good sound.
i did not think of that. i do have some tubes left over. maybe i need to do a follow up video on the different items you can use. plastic bag as a baseline, then tube, and what ever I can find. Thanks for the tip. Love this platform for knowledge sharing.

Pretty close. I would not mind putting a cone on it to fine tune it for the truck. Just have not had the time. :)

You can also use a second tube, inside which the outlet tube fits...
When you telescoping the outer tube (like on a trombone) you'll have different sounds 😁
Optionally, you can add a large plastic funnel to the edge of outlet, (like the ones we use to transfer liquids into bottles)
this will make the sound louder
my boy plays the tuba and trombone. this sounds like a project I can bring him in on.

Thanks Kyle. I really did not get a lot of fans from the parents when I did it for the scouts. WOW that was loud. There were a few times where they had them in the car and would blow them when I saw them out in town. Good times.

yes it will. The bag is what makes the sound wave. It sounds like an experiment is in order. I will see what I can put together.

Spend another dollar or two and buy a 90-degree elbow for the air inlet so you can point the horn and look in the same direction!?

we did build one with a 3 inch pipe but It was harder to blow. But putting one on a Kayak would be killer.

How load is the low pitch one
it is still pretty loud, it is just a lower pitch. It is not as ear piercing as the little ones. I made one with a 3" pipe and it started to get hard to blow.

yes they did and still do. :) We did the same thing with the troop a few months ago. Everyone at the American legion Post knew we were there. Love it. we tried to make a band with an air horn, Bucket drum, and a CanJo. They might of needed more practice.
