On today's video I made a drill powered air horn from an old and broken dewalt 20v drill. This project is extremely easy to make and took about 30 minutes to complete.

It's time to wake the dead lol
Man yeah! I can tell this video is going to get me in trouble
Thats what I like to hear!
Go tigers!!
I'm in a wheelchair and I need this in my life. lol
It took me about 2 hours with my dremel tool to smooth out the drill.
I went to harbor freight and bought an $8 set of rasp bits for my drill took about 20 minutes to remove the excess plastic.
Thanks for the video!
Should’ve picked up an Air horn as well while you were there at Harbor freight
Dude! That was perfect! Thank you. I bought the exact horn last week and have the same sacrifice drill in the garage. I didn’t know what I was gonna do with the relay so thanks for letting us know that it is not needed. And the Dremeling/zip tie etc. 👍
You have one of the best explanations out there. Just got my horn today, I should be done with it by the end of today. Stay tuned!
This was one of the first videos I found about this. Picked up what I needed and it couldn’t have been easier. Quick and easy tutorial. I call mine the 150db Hand Cannon. My neighbors will thank you. 😂
Thanks for the “Air Horn Class”!! I almost bought one for $250. But decided to look for videos so O can make one myself but didn’t have any idea. Now, thanks yo your video, I am going to try to make one myself!! You’re the best!!!
You got this!
Too much fun you got there
Your neighbors must love you
I have some really cool neighbors! I've lived in this same neighborhood for 19 years and I've had some crappy neighbors but the ones we have now are very cool. They call me the hoa president and we dont have an hoa lol.
What state are u in looks nice@@Fentertainment
OMG I now need this in my life.
He does a great job every time!
Thanks for the Cool video🙏 Now I am ordering 2. One for my truck & one for my drill😊
Loved this video. Thank you. I'm going to make one of these.
I built one...Works GREAT!!!!
Just ordered my kit 😎
This is a great video. But I wanted to let whomever BE AWARE! That you must make sure you have it on tighten instead of loosen, because it will suck in air and not blow. I havent found anyone saying this and maybe thought someone else would have the same issue and it would help them.
Yep.... got an old impact that quit working... always wondered why I kept it for so long when it didn't work..... NOW I KNOW WHY! Great video #ziptiesfixeverything
I didn’t think I needed this…. But now I’m looking for a used drill to build it!
Ryan, you never cease to amaze me....
Appreciate it, I just like to make stuff!
Thanks so much for the detail 🎉
Dude!! I'm going to build one and put it on a cubed wooden box. I've been sourcing parts for it. I'm going to use a 12v deer feeder battery to power it and I found a cheap switch to solder to it. I just have to get some more wiring. It's on!! Thanks for the idea!!
LOL !!! Me and this guy would get along great 👍🏆.
Looks like I’m off to eBay! This is definitely next on to do list
Good to know we don’t need to use the relay. Thanks that’s very helpful.
Great video.
I have a harbor freight air horn kit that wouldn't fit under my hood and a broken cordless reciprocating saw.
As soon as I find them both at the same time I will Frankenstein them together.
I like how you reused the original electronics.
That way it should track battery temp and keep you from setting the battery on fire.
Plus you get to keep the LED light.
Hmm, I have an old 12 volt siren some place.
I could add it and a switch.
Doubt the battery could run both at the same time.
Your neighbors must love you. Lol. Nice job. Creator level 11.
I have a couple neighbors who love to prank! Very thankful I have the neighbors I have!
Pretty cool! I could see myself bringing something similar but smaller, to scare off wildlife when I go fishing in very remote areas. But I can't seem to find horns that aren't made for trains :D
I think this can be adapted to any air horn maybe
I bought the one you recommended bit i got a dud.... The compressor didn't blow air so i just reordered another horn kit hopefully this one works....
Cool
7:47 When you were testing out the air compressor, why was the compressor spinning or moving, and what makes it do that?
Lol I don’t feel like mounting an air tank on my truck for one of these o I’m fixing to do this and keep in in the cab 😂
How are you keeping the motor from spinning once its all together?
Your a genius...lol...lol..o ya , big fun ..lol...lol..☮
Jfc that's some Fallout 4 shit right there, I'm so happy XD
I had a guy at competition pull his out ... And for a low low price of 350.00 you can have your own .... I jus smiled and said noiceee... Best believe ill be makin one 😂
This would be great for a kayak or small boat so you don't get run over
*I need a horn for my quad and though I want something at least comparable to a car, this would be a terrible idea lol. It is however a very cool device to have around.*
Yeah I put the same one on my golf cart. Love It! People never expect it!
@@Fentertainment calling those golf carts is like calling Kong Kong an ape! lol
That guy's neighbors must have been like, WHO THE F@CK IS BLOWING THAT DAMN HORN?!?!?!?!!!! lol
If this is a 12 volt horn/compressor how do you get it to work with a 20v drill? Ive tried and no sound just over heating the compressor? Any help would be great thanks
Mine worked completely fine.
Went ahead & ordered the horn recommended..
Bought a Dewalt drill to match my current tools,
Problem is, it’s got 3 wires going into motor, black, blue, white, & a string of 5 other wires on a plug…. Can’t seem to get a combo to work? It’s not an impact like yours…
Can you order this drill horn and motor with a wireless remote?
I saw they sold the drill horns with a wireless remote but they want a lot of money for that whole drill with it.
Them horns made out of Chinesium!!!
Thank you. Where did you get the work bench?
Got it here - amzn.to/3XvSWMt
@@Fentertainment Thank you.
i take it i need a 1/2 inch drill. im trying to do this with a 3/8 inch and it's difficult to put together
Question I am making a train horn gun right now do you know what two wires to connect to the mini air compressor I’m using a Dewalt brushless motor trigger The wires are blue black and white
Did you ever figure it out? I’m trying the same and can’t seem to make any configuration work
@@brettinvigorating6258 I have heard the brushless switches won't work.
I don't know if that's true.
the relay is not used in that drill is it just direct connect?
Yes
Did skipping the relay affect in the long run??
No it didnt. Still going strong! The relay is there incase you use a low amperage switch in the cab of a vehicle. But since the drill doesnt use a relay to power the drill motor it works just fine with the compressor and battery.
What model number of Drill are you using?
Nevermond GOT IT DCD771
What size hose tube did you use ??
It was the hose that came with the horn, not sure the size.
If somebody can help me out please do, so I ripped apart my drill and on my motor instead of just black and red wires I have a three phase blue, white and black wires. Was hoping somebody had the same problem and could tell me how to solve it
Great video! I have no idea why...but I have to get one of these!!!! It's a man thing for sure!!!
Can you put more Horns on it
Lol. I’ve got a Ryobi Ooga horn
Very Cool. OOOGHA
Be fun to take into wallmart
My son plays football and some parent ordered them. I’m going to make lime
You can do it!
This is awesome! Got mine in yesterday, now just gotta stop by China freight and get a drill. My son's little league team will be happy 😅😅
mawwwwwp
The only problem is I’m using a newer drill and it has more than the 2 wires and none of them seem to give a power output
Yea I had the same problem
Did you ever figure it out ?
Do you have drop down the voltage from 20v to 12v?
Nope. It’s works on 20v
@Fentertainment I'm using an 18v drill and worry that it will blow out the horn. There is already black stuff in the air tube. I was wondering how the 20v is working out for you now. Are you having issues with it being over power?
can't we just use a portable inflator now? lol
Mine it doesn’t work the motor was just putting out black stuff all over me
Send it back and get another one.
Use canned air not spray paint? lol
My kinda video
Mine seems to suck air rather than blow lol
Flip the wires
When I made mine it did the same thing all you need to do is flip the switch for which way the direction of the drill would go
Couldn't a guy separate the compressor from the 12v drive motor and housing, remove the chuck and clutch assembly from the drill, couple the compressor to the hopefully higher quality Dewalt drill motor and wahla ? Not that this build isn't pretty cool but wondering if the made in China 12v motor/compressor assembly may not last very long wired to a 20v battery. Ya know tho being a cheap Chinese jungle crap horn it may not last very long wired to a 12v battery either lol.
All depends on how the motor Is wound which affects its speed. I got a feeling the Dewalt motor is wound for torque, which wouldn't spin up the air pump as quick. I could be totally wrong though.
Wait. Did he just chuck the chuck? 3:05
Halloween will never be the same.
You'll probably get a ticket after you use this on some dumb arse playing thump dee dump while at a traffic light.
Neighbors stupid enough to make too much noise after ten? Remind them of that at 2:00 A.M.
Can you sell me one?
I dont build them to sell, Ive seen these for sale for around $300. I just made the video to show them being made for under $50 if you have an old drill.
Trumpets not a train horn!
Lort help me with the awful knowledge!!
This video is bull shit he cut half of the important stuff out
Those aren't train horns. Those are just shitty auto zone air horns.
Still loud and badass
I just build one some loud
Realistically would I be able to mount this to my truck? Instead of a dewalt? Hmm
yeah, thats what i think they are intended for.
Yup I’m a scare the shitts outta some mechanics trying to snatch my tools 🧰 honk if ya got one thanks for this video appreciate u honk on brother
LOL. Do you work in a shop with other mechanics?
@@Fentertainment yes custom cars on the East coast Rhode Island I’m build it this morning all the parts are at the shop lol 7:04am EST
Ten4@@coronaman9438
I built it was hiding under the car seen a rookie mechanic trying to use my torque wrench 🔧 as he walked by the front of the car I let him get it out of the case as he leaned over I blew that 3 stage horn on the DeWalt I think he peed him self I said now don’t take my stuff no more lmfaoroff
