Cons these days don’t know how easy they’ve got it, TVs and toilets in their cell, max of 2 people. When I was in it was 4 to a cell and we used to have to shit in a bucket.
@@DiamondCake2 last jail I was in had under floor heating and ensuite showers. Gym twice a day, tv, library and 'education', only got 8 month so got out on tag at 2 because of convid.
@@tonyward9804 what a load of tosh….prison isn’t meant to punish the punishment is spending years behind the wall….the prison and prison guards are there to keep us locked in and if your really an ex con you’d know that ….even with a PlayStation you miss your family and friends….theres too many mentally ill people locked up when they really should be in hospital…..imagine them poor souls behind a door with nothing to keep them occupied

It's not just the prison system. It's everything. Houses doctors dentists. It's an influx of people that's caused it.

I hear you mate, I’ve been saying for a while that, it’s not just one of the system that has crashed, it’s the system as a whole that has crashed, the NHS, the Councils, the financial system, the judicial system has crashed, and believe me it’s gonna take a lot more than the Labour government to sort out the state that this country is in.
If we’re ill we have to call the doctors surgery and sometimes you can’t even get through to the receptionist and if you do get through sometimes there’s no appointments left to see the doctor, and it can take days and even weeks before you can see the doctor, and like you said even the dentists are pulling out of the NHS or many of them are, I live in the West Country and my friend had a terrible abscess in her mouth so she called 111 and they tried to get her a dentist to see and I’m seriously not kidding you but, the person on the end of the 111 call told my friend that they couldn’t find a dentist that she could go see in the whole of Wiltshire and I remember thinking how scary that is, basically the tories have run this country very deep into the ground and like I said I seriously think that it’s gonna take a hell of a lot more than the Labour Party to clean up this mess we’re in right now and, yeah it’s only just a matter of time before we see some very serious riots in the prisons and in the streets because people are not gonna take much more of what is going on right now.
We have allowed an open door system for immigration. That's not being prejudice It's a practical fact. The country hasn't the infrastructure to cope. Health appointments, school places, housing, prisons are all on their backsides.
They are on their backsides because theres been no investment in infrastructure. The Tory bastards stole all the money and got you to blame some poor asylum seeker.

Quite a few prisons are currently sat empty with electrics still on. Camp Hill I.OW , Reading also.....I wonder why the Prison service do not demand these re-open ? even for a temp measure? . Great content yet again!

I remember years back the jails being so full that when you'd been court you were kept in a police station near the prison for about a week until a pad came free. You were in the police station but under prison rule so you could have vista and smoke. I got released 28 days early back in 2007 when they did early release due to over crowding.
They need to stop sending people to prison for minor offences, such as non payment of fines and other petty offences. They also need to address the massive elephant in the room and that’s the calibre of staff. Sadly, our prisons are staffed by incompetent people and the consequences of which is becoming apparent. Prisons are a breeding ground for corruption, violence and chronic bullying and drug misuse.

I’m got out last year. Even then they were saying that people were in police stations because there was no room. They brought my tag forward 3 months then sent me to a D cat for 3 weeks. Who goes to a D cat for 3 weeks??

@@billsmith-hl8rk Hollesley Bay. Which was crazy as I was in Five wells before that which is only 20-30 minutes from where I live. Making my way back from Suffolk took me about 4 hours.

The government has not built enough new prisons. They are years behind the building program. Spoke to my pal who's in a cat B and he said staff members are leaving the job at an alarming rate.
I do agree with you Ricky regarding the IPP prisoners though. This is inhumane treatment.
Thanks for the video. I fear there will be a prison riot like Strangeways (1990) because if prisoners are treated like animals, then we ought not to be surprised if they behave like animals. I do feel for both the prisoners and prison officers. I do agree that there's a severe housing crisis but no offence, I think the main cause of this is Thactcher selling off the council houses and successive governments (both Labour and Conservative) haven't built anywhere enough houses to keep up with demand. I agree more prisons definitely need to be built, I do think the other puplic services that are overstreched is also contributing to crime and prisoners not getting rehabilitaed for example there's a lack of support for people with mental health and drug problems. Social services and youth centres have been cut. Prisoners need the opportunity for proper Education both regarding skills but also social responsibily to help them be rehabilitied. Once they are let out of prison, they need to get continual support to help them keep on the straight and narrow like they do in Norway where the reoffending rate is around 20%. I know this stuff is costly but in long run I thick it would save us money. No offence, if you anyone doesn't agree with my views. I respect others views.
I was all the way down to Marshgate from Newcastle upon Tyne miles from home thankfully I wasn't In long but days without association were hard red days were awful.

New subscriber Ricky I was in jail in Swansea in 07 \08 it was Blair's government that created the ipp system and I met many inmates serving stupid sentences ipps for commercial burglaries as repeat offenders etc and it just clogged up the system they had to do various courses to satisfy consideration for release like ETS ( enhanced thinking skills ) each was 3 to 6 months long and if I recall there were about 5 in total you had to do before considering you for release none of the prisons did have all the courses or facility's to do them in one place so they were constantly having to move to another prison to find the relevant courses which were usually full and had waiting lists and it completely fucked the system up led to overcrowding and more problems as you quite rightly said this issue has not been resolved and continues to be a serious problem then you had probation recalling everyone to lighten their caseloads which I know still goes on ..this doesn't help matters as you high lighted again in your video but the real problem is they have closed a lot of prisons they are terribly underfunded and have been by successive governments fir years and this problem I don't think will be changed by the new government either ..this country has turned to shit and will only get worse in my opinion unless someone in power says enough !! And stops all the shit going on in and out of jail it will only get worse we need to start again with our laws our approach to societies needs we need an end to tax dodging which harms the common man ( if you wanna bank offshore then fuck off there ) more investment in our services more housing and less political bullshit ...that would be a start to making our country great again and of course remove these unwanted burdens on our whole system ( bogus asylumn seekers) and stop allowing those dickhead s in Brussels to decide our laws ...I'm not racist nor far right just observing our country for what It is ... unfortunately corruption rules

My brother got 6 years EPP minimum 4 years in 2011 for rioting. Over 10 years later he's still locked up, only just getting C Cat. Something seriously needs to be done to help people serving these diabolical sentences
The overcrowding won't be helped then by the sudden closure this week of HMP Dartmoor. Allegedly a temporary closure for up to two years while remedial works are carried out but I bet it closes permanently. Prisoners shipped out to already overcrowded prisons. Full scale riots will happen soon and God help those staff and prisoners who suffer when they happen.

They need to change the entire system. It's outdated and not fit for purpose. No real rehabilitation, governments putting finances before a human life (prisoner and victims) and no chance of success when prisoners leave because they have to go back to the very life circumstances that led them on the path to prison in the first place.

They need to create more opportunities for young people. Invest in communities across every age group, instead of prison for non violent offenders give them work in the community cleaning up the rough areas.
Immigrants who commit a crime should be deported straight away, fair enough give them a chance but they get away with too much.
feel sorry for the inmates on lesser crimes ...why why have people , we clearly can not feed or house ..after lock down business closed we became jobless homeless suicidal lost money as a government out of profhit over a fake crises ...so how can we possibly feed migrants ?
There's no hate here in any way shape or form, but just a thought how many prisoners could be deported surely that would free a lot of space. Even weed related offences shouldn't really be in prison
