"The Midwest is like Southern Canada." Ha Ha! I've often thought so myself. I have family in both Toronto and Chicago, and they have a lot of similar personality traits. Extremely nice people, down to earth, great sense of humor, really into sports. And the funny thing is because I've been raised around so much family with roots in the Midwest and Canada I've always had this sort of quasi-Midwest/Canadian accent ever since I was a small child. I don't even notice it. And I was born and raised in Los Angeles. People ask me all the time if I'm from Canada or the Midwest. It gets tiring, but I understand it.

The Midwest has the best foods. Beer, cheese curds, the Chicago pizza and hot dogs, the best burgers, chili, everything. The Midwest was the best place to grow up. You can climb trees anytime and anywhere. You are the best at making snow caves and you will always ALWAYS think twice about the football teams. Love ya Midwest

Jimmy John's isn't a Midwestern thing, we had it everywhere in the suburbs of Baltimore where I grew up. I will say, though, one night after work I came in to pick up an order a few minutes before closing, and they offered me some loaves of leftover french bread free of charge. That definitely gave off a friendly Midwestern vibe.
