    Mate, why can't other Hendrix-styled lessons on CZcams be like yours? Your lessons are straight to the point, short and bite-sized full of great learnings. I'd say the two Hendrix videos I've reviewed so far on your channel are the best I've come across. Thanks for your time and effort on preparing these great vids. Cheers!

    Your caveat on application at the end was very appreciated. I'm a church guitarist and there are rock principles that don't apply to Contemporary Christian Music, they would sound out of place. Most guitar teachers on CZcams never mention anything of the sort.

      Thank you! I always think it’s important to learn the application of what we learn. So many things on guitar can be transferred across styles, it’s like more bang for you buck 💪🏻

    You are a terrific teacher. I've recently been searching for some videos to try to add some Hendrix style embellishments to my old Hey Joe campfire version, being this and the previous video of yours the best by far. Thank you very much. I like, subscribe and let the adds run for you 🤟

    How you doing? You can wrap your hand around the neck and touch your thumb and index, easy for you. I can't do that. If I use my thumb then my fingers flatten and the chord won't sound good. Even Jimi Hendrix had long slender fingers which is why he could play like he did so some people say size means nothing but it does. I like your site. Keep rocking!

    • @FretlixGuitar
      @FretlixGuitar  Před rokem

      Hi Doug! Yes I’ve got quite big hands and have been playing a long time so I’m able to do it. You can also do this trick without your thumb, I explain that in the video around 4 mins in :) Hope that helps. Glad you like me site and thanks for the message!

      Thanks, I’m glad you enjoyed the lesson. I’m using a Kemper Profiler for the amp sounds and the Strat is a 90’s Paisley. The guitar is a pretty good one and I had the pickups changed to a set that were made for me by an Italian Luthier. I’m not sure what they are as I was on tour in Italy and was introduced to this guy who took original components from the 60s and 70s and makes pickups. They are very good, low output but full of life and dynamic range :)

    NOW Lesson 3 - G Major 3 RD FRET - next up ---goes to A major 5 TH FRET --right ? ---So why do you say its a C major chord ? It sounds like a A major !

  • @LedByGrace
    @LedByGrace Před 4 měsíci +1

    Barring the E and B string-this takes of a lot practice when you add in the g and d string and thumb over the Low E and A string. lol…good grief

    • @LedByGrace
      @LedByGrace Před 4 měsíci +1

      I reworked it out. I use my pinki for the e and b and my ring finger for the g. I have small hands-it works, this is without the thumb over the low e -still working in that😢

    • @LedByGrace
      @LedByGrace Před 4 měsíci +1

      Try barring just the e and b string and then use your pinki to hammar on / off the e and b string. Practice this first and then I use my ring finger to hammar off / on the g string. It’s funky but it’s working and I am actually seeing improvement after 10 minutes -my goal is to,use my pinki finger for e, b, g and my thumb over the low e string

      It’s tough indeed but I promise it all gets easier with a little time and practice. I’m glad you’ve found a work around and you are seeing some instant progress! That’s great :) The cool thing about guitar is there’s different ways to play things and we all have our unique styles. I love it as this is what makes us unique players and constantly learning :)
