Thank you for the tips in this video. Only have a few square bills and don't use them much mostly cause I didn't know when and where to throw them for most effect, this video was a huge help with that.

The Spro Fat Papa’s have caught some of my biggest bass last year (first year I have used them) plus a half dozen or more big channel cats. I have 2 each of the big and small…one each bright color for dirty water and one each bluegill pattern for clear. Only issue with them is castability. They tumble often in the air and end up fouling the front trebles on the bill. Plan on switching those fronts to a size smaller hook before spring.
I love Bagley Balsa B’s! I have caught some big fish on them. I need to grab a few Little John’s! I love Cashion Rods.

Great video John, I still have a hard time throwing a crank on more than a 6.1 reel. Normally I use a 5.5 to 1 reel for most cranking and in colder water a 4.9 Zillion crank reel. I know those slow reels have cost me a fish or two, but I just feel like I get more bites going slower. I have tried to crank on the faster reels, but just does not feel right for how I fish. I love to hear different perspectives on the same technique though.

Interesting about the line I bought a spool of 14lb crank fc and never really found a niche for it. I currently am throwing them on a chronarch mgl with 12lb. Sniper, it's new but I'll definitely have to try that other. I love square bill fishing

I had a question about the your setup, John. The other pros I listen to on CZcams, and I've heard this more than one place, have said "Your rod, reel and line work together in a system". For fishing crankbaits, one part of the system should offer "give or stretch", but two parts of the system giving/stretching is too much. So for your tournament setup, you're going to have 2 parts offering give. The tip of your squarebill rod is soft, plus the Sunline Crank FC line has additional stretch over a "typical" flurocarbon. I find this interesting. Obviously, I not saying you're wrong or they're wrong, it's whatever works for the individual, but are you concerned it's too soft a setup and have you increased your reel ratio to "get on them faster" to compensate?
