Love square Bills. I’ve caught yellow perch, Drum, Crappie, large and small mouth bass on them. Chartreuse is my go to. (KVD)

This video reminds me of my early days (1965 I was 15) with a spinner bait, a guy told me that was what he was catching them on. I bought a couple but was clueless how to fish one, I think at first I tried fishing it like a worm, I didn't fish either one correctly, I was dumber that dirt! I had fun though! Happy Days!

Great stuff Randy! I admittedly suck with a squarebill. I was definitely doing something wrong bc I deflect them off cover, start n stop, etc and still don't get many bites. I need to pick some up and stick with it until I figure it out. I have about 50 of them that don't get fished much if at all.

Yes you are correct. I use the the Lucky Craft. It’s like they are always running on the edge of out of tune. I almost always have one tied on.

I do like a crankbait but you can only fish it mostly after it gets cold and the grass dies , when it gets close to the spawn grass gets so bad here , but only shallow divers , those deep divers for here you can’t fish em , loved it

Nope… home made are definitely better, but the Jensen speed trap will hunt as good as the megabass.

i was killing it with squarebills that do the basic action during winter believe it or not but now they aren’t working (also lost all my color options lol) i still love burning it though i need to restock

So do you change out the Megabass factory hooks? If so, why don' they make them the way you want the lure set up since you helped design it? My lake has no rocks, just a good ole Texas mud bottom. That leaves pilings & logs, or nothing. Given this type of terrain, would you spend your effort using something else? Lastly if if you are cranking along the side of a log it seems like the side to side action is going to cause you to get hung up. Right or wrong? Thanks. I learned a lot from this presentation. The older I get, the happier I am to slow down and work a target thoroughly.

the action on plastic baits has absolutely not been an improvement over balsa but Megabass doesn't make them so they can't be any good
