If you've ever seen BSG.. this is totally, 100% accurate. I don't know what I would have done if I had started watching it when it was airing. You cannot watch just one episode.
I love how she screams. Years ago while watching the orignal run of ST:TNG cliffhanger of 'Best of Both Worlds', when Riker says "Fire" and then it goes to To Be Continued. . .(3 months later) I did pretty much the same thing.
This reminds me so much of me and my husband. I can't count the number of nights we have WRONGLY stayed up until 5 am just watching great stuff on t.v. A couple of weeks ago it was a Downtown Abbey marathon. So fun....I love him.

There have been MANY times since the beginning of this show when I've felt like Fred &/or Carrie was hiding nearby, gathering skit ideas from my day-to-day life (which goes to show you how truly relatable these weirdos are)! This sketch was almost embarrassing in its familiarity... Ironically, I had fallen into a Battlestar Galactica rabbit hole, myself,(that is how it happens) several months prior, when SyFy was celebrating it's 25th anniversary. As a result, those intense opening (recap) notes put me into a semi-fuge state... Also, about 15 years ago (when VCR's were still pretty common & Blockbuster had yet to go under), my ex & I rented "Twin Peaks" (I had been too young to watch it when it had originally aired). Since the series was spread over multiple videos, we'd watch one & race back to drop it off for the next in line. Problem was that the store had CLOSING hours. And then SOMEONE ELSE had rented the video we needed (this prompted phone calls to other stores in the area). By this time, I had called into work "sick", twice. Eventually, we got our viewing back on track & OF COURSE the VCR broke! So, at 3am, we drove to Walmart to replace it... I'm here to tell you that when you get sucked that deeply into a show is ZERO logic involved...
I watched BSG when it was on air weekly, but I just got into Twin Peaks. It was hard enough NOW to not drop everything and marathon that show without stores and old tech getting in the way. Your questing makes total sense to me : )
I understand for the joke you had to watch a 45 minute episode but watching the series proper before watching the miniseries is sacrilegious. Though I'd argue that 33 is one of the best episodes and an amazing series opener. It sets up the stakes, it shows they're not afraid to just kill whoever. Brilliant piece of television. Am I taking this too seriously? Probably. I am an insanely huge fan of BSG. Along with West Wing it's another show I watch on a yearly basis.
I understand now ...... Aubrey Plaza, who appeared in "Portlandia", around the same time (2011) did a very short video for Parks & Rec where she is supposed to describe the show in 30 seconds .... and she totally describes "Battlestar Galactica" .... mystery solved

That show was addictive. it took me about the 3rd episode to get hooked. Most shows nowadays are inferior to Battlestar. I would say Game of Thrones is the Medieval counterpart in terms of realism.
Ha ha ha ha... Now with GoT tied up the scary truth of this becomes apparent. Both were brilliant series, until the writers killed them with nonsense and stupidity.
@@kennethfharkin BSG wasn't great in the last season, GoT last season (but season 6 onward really) was so bad it actually ruined the entire show. I'll never be able to rewatch it knowing what its all leading up to.
I once missed 6 days of work (where I am the boss) because of BSG. I lived in PJ's, only ate chinese delivery, and kept saying "Starbuck wouldn't (blah blah blah)" ... it was a huge problem. The best problem I've ever had in my life.

This is only a SLIGHT exaggeration. It happened 20 years ago during a Twin Peaks VHS marathon. It started out as a mild reluctance to watch the pilot at 9pm, and snowballed into the wee hours of the morning saying "Ok, just ONE more!!!" several times.
Or people who've always suspected that hominids on this planet received a huge genetic helping hand some quarter of a million years back, if not exactly from Sumerian "Gods," then someone similar.

Colonists settle in a place like Atlantis or such, hide their ships somewhere out of sight at the bottom of the ocean, on the moons of Jupiter, or in an enormous elliptical orbit of the solar system. That is not what Moore proposed. Moore had them throw out all their technology, disperse across the planet, and simply assumed parents would be cool with condemning their daughters to shagging grunting prehistoric savage humans then dying from disease and child birth by 20. That isn't even addressing the simple bad writing of having dug themselves into so many different holes that all they could do is say "god did it" and walk away from the dumpster fire they created.
