Oh sweet Bootsie!! I just love her and her mommy instincts. Such a sweet pup. She is so so patient and masterful with the puppies. And it appears the puppies love her. But they seem to love everybody two legs or more!!! It's so cute how they respond to your voice!!! Happy St. Paddy Day!!!!
So adorable!!! My Blenheim, Spencer, watches your video of the puppies with me. We will both miss them after they get adopted. My puppy started out with Royal Canin puppy food & is now on Royal Canin adult food. Your little guys are the sweetest!!! ♥️♥️♥️‼️‼️‼️🍀🍀🍀
Thank you so much for the food breakdown! And for your response on the last video. I plan to feed my puppy Wellness small breed puppy food for now and see how it goes!
Just watched this with my nan’s king charles caviler Bertie he’s just less than a week younger than this litter he is snuggled on my lap at the moment 😆🥰
Aww! I watch every video and my grandma's puppy (who i often care for and is a blenhiem of the same breed as yours)! Keep up the great work. By the way, would you ever consider enabling channel memberships? it would be cool if I could support you as these r amazing
Sorry - Ruthy (aka R.G.B.) has recently had some unexplained diarrhea. I started to doubt her dry diet and was flirting with the idea of raw (that several people disagreed with). When I heard your food experience a little while ago, I am now convinced to stick with the dry. Ruthy is just over a year old. I am sure that there is another explanation for her gut disturbances. Thank you, Charlie!
I love your videos. It's good to hear from a breeder. I was just wondering if you have ever used freeze dried dog food (like k9 Natural etc) & whether you think it is worth the price?
If I fed freeze dried or fresh food with my crew, I'd be broke in no time. For someone with just one dog, there are lots of choices. Not based on any first-hand experience, my reaction would be that a raw diet or a "fresh" food would be more appetizing to the dog. Just make sure you don't use a grain-free food, and that the proper additives (taurine, Vitamin A, etc) are in it.
They just keep getting cuter by the minute! Love Aunt Bootsie, she is a sweet dog. Definitely going to miss these videos when they go to their forever homes. What brand dry kibble do you use? There are so many its hard to determine which is really good and every time I think I've decided on one then I read something bad. Thanks for any recommendations!
Right now, we're using Royal Canin. They have the specialty foods we need for breeding, they have a breed-specific food geared to the needs of Cavaliers, and they have top-notch health and nutrition consultants. There are other good brands as well - just stay away from the "supermarket" brands.
My adult dogs get the Cavalier specific food. I don't use the Cavalier puppy food, because it doesn't come in large enough bags for my needs, so I use the Small Breed Puppy food.
Thank you very much for explaining what you use to feed your dogs, I was about to ask you what you recommended for the Cavaliers. I live in an area where it gets very hot and am always worried about my pets getting dehydrated so I like using a mixture of wet and dry food mixed with warm water to make sure they get the water they need. Would you recommend that as well or is that something best answered by my vet?
It's always a good idea to talk to a vet who knows your dog and knows local conditions. However, I have never had a dehydration worry - I always add warm water to the dry food, and give all the dogs 24 hour access to fresh water.
I'm currently using Royal Canin. They have a great line of specialty foods for breeding, and they have a good breed-specific food for Cavaliers. They also have excellent nutrition advisors and health consultants. However, I've also done well in the past with Fromm, Merrick, and some other brands. You can use any good brand - just stay away from the "supermarket" varieties.
We do almost all the grooming ourselves. It's a lot of work, but if you only do two dogs on a grooming day, it's bearable. When there's a special case, we go to a groomer, but we only use ones we trust.
Right now, I'm using Royal Canin Adult Cavalier dry food. But you would do fine with any quality brand, such as Fromm, Merrick, Blue Buffalo, etc. Just don't use grain-free foods, and don't ever use any of the "supermarket" brands.
Start the day you get her. For the first 3 days, don't even let her walk on the floor inside your house - she should either be outside, on your lap, or in the crate. See my video at czcams.com/video/CdWR275LHio/video.html

@@chaskat35 The Puppy/adult version or the cavalier specific puppy/adult ones?

Bootsie’s just babysitting, gotta help her sister get a break from the kids!
These are the cutest dogs. What do you do for grooming when you have so many dogs?

I have a cavalier king charales puppy also and he’s 3 months old
My cavalier just turned one....any suggestions on which adult food to feed him?

I am new to the puppy world. I am getting a Maltese soon. She is now 7 weeks old. To get her potty trained when should I start?
