Venezuela has rich oil reserves but its ran by the socialist who want to ruin america using the vote of immigrants for the corrupt democrat party to make it mimic the failing socialist country that bernie sanders literally complemented years ago under their previous dictator. The communist Emma Lazarus wrote the "give me your tired, poor, .." poem and the commie mayor of NY at the time put the plaque on the statue. However, from my viewpoint this speech does not represent an accurate reality of inmigration, but indeed it is a demonstration on how debating and public speaking is done. She easily shows how a good speech must have a hook-point-conclusion structure conserving simplicity and getting to the point, ans she still has an idea she defended well. It is not about being right and exhuberantly academic all the time. To finish with, "Less is more".

I feel like I'd do the same thing. I always mispronounce stuff. I recently found out that unison is not pronounced u-sion but instead u-ni-son and no one thought to tell me, I found out on my own.

Is this stereotype, Valley Girl, still current? Back in the 80's there was a cartoon that had a lasting impression on me to this very day (even though I wasn't in the US, I was a teen in Brazil), called Beverly Hills Teen, with Valley Girl types such as Lark and Bianca. From a philosophical pint of view, the operative term is "should". WHich is tough to say, because moralists try to equate "should" with what the law should be.
Philosophically we all "should" stop eating meat. Because it is the morally correct thing to do. But you could never make that outlawed. Philosophically Singer proved that we "should" give away all our money so the world is on equal footing. But he has a net worth of $9m and doesnt do it.
Humans are fundamentally flawed. WE should offer refuge for anyone that feels oppressed, but we don't. But there are programs where you can house a refugee. If you beleive in taking in a refugee there is honestly nothing stopping you but yourself.
