He was the best guitarist in the universe on that day
101% agree
I agree with you. I'm tremendously jealous of whoever was there that day :-).
Agreed 1000000 percent. How he just gets lost into a state of trance is almost unbelievable.
@@abelzeliang7877 Yes, and it seems it sometimes happens with international artist during live concerts in Japan. Search your favourite artist and see. The atmosphere maybe.
Both Paul Gilbert and Steve Vai were also playing at this concert. Steve played some very tasty tunes too. But this song was probably my favorite from this concert. This is the best version of this song I've come across. Andy was in the zone. Lol.
A guy doing construction at our house was listening to Andy Timmons. I heard the music and just had to ask him, "Who the hell is this?" I've now become an Andy Timmons fan...what a guitarist.
It's THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL for our guitar world ❤
If you're a guitar player, this is hands down the best 8 minutes on CZcams.
This and Gary Moore’s performance at fender 50th concert.
probably something like Psalms 23 'cause he wrote it for the victims of 911.
One hundred Percent Agree...
Of course 🍻
Yes!
Still one of the best instrumental rock ballads ever played on guitar. 2022
Hola!! Que sorpresa encontrarte acá. Siempre me entretengo tocando sobre tus backing tracks...
Saludos y gracias por tu trabajo!!
Old but gold.
Totally agree
Best of HImself
Agreed.
for me, this is one of the most emotional instrumental song of all time!!
It is indeed, it feels if Andy's guitar is not plugged into an amp, but straight into his heart. I got tears in my eyes so many times listening to this gem.
Andy's On Your Way Sweet Soul is right up there with this. The man has got the gift.
@@paullevine1813 Have you heard Jubilant also? A gem also, but most are great. I hope he puts that one on a future record and I hope he makes it twice as long.
see this.. czcams.com/video/vqZ89G6z4UE/video.html
check out 'Gone' If you haven't already by andy
Am not exaggerating when I say this version of cry for you changed my life. Still gives me goosebumps 15 years later.
Every guitarist knows there are just some days when you can’t put a foot wrong . Something is being channeled through you . Your tone , your choice of notes ,your feel and musical influences all come together at once . It’s rear and it’s magic . Andy Timmons most certainly found his inner guitar god in this performance . Insane .
Those days are so rare. Adapting to snail house songs, is like trying to play polyphia. Elite guitarist struggle tryin to learn polyphia. Younger players with less experience seem to learn faster, they practice but not like 8 hours daily. Young guitarist learn rhythm blues chops originally Hendrix (muddy waters) adding flamenco, thump technique that creates totallynew style. Eighties shredders Paul Gilbert Marty Friedman are terrified. Steve vai is only one, I seen admit he cant do what polyphia does. Polyphia can play anything Paul Gilbert, or yngyang, on spot. They don’t play acoustic like polyphia. Lmao!!
@@dannyhood4007I don't like polyphia music, this is my taste.
@@dannyhood4007I appreciate polyphia, but they can’t make the guitar cry like Andy and others. They don’t ring much bell into my ears. I appreciate the technical evolution and the melodic layering. I personally learned bits of playing god and it is so fun to play. Yet it is just fun, not much soul in it.
@@dannyhood4007 PS: their music is so caged and quantized that it doesn’t allow the freedom of playing outside in terms of tempo and tone.
Weird take. Andy Timmons is a god. He wasn't just magically good "on this day." He's always like this.
Ladies and gentlemen, this version of this song is without a doubt, the epitome of instrumental rock ballads.
I just lost my dog, and best friend...this song has been on repeat
Sorry To Hear You Lost Your Fur Baby,Their One Of The Family.😭😭😭😭
Have A Great Weekend. A f friend
this one of the most stunning performances ever. so much emotion
Un ici il you impoli ou il ou ici ou il il i tui
Absolutely right
He had to have sold his soul. It should be illegal to be this good.
I totally agree.
Does anyone else experience this amazing performance as intensely erotic?
If there was a guitar bible, this would be one of the most important chapters..
Andy we love you!
The Book of Timmons. Amen
@@chrisdaviesguitar the Holy Timmble
Lost my mom due to covid in September 2021. This song...... I'm speechless.
Im sorry for your lost, shes on haven now
This is from the Ibanez 90th Anniversary concert, Andy definitely stole the show that night. He blew all the other greats out of the water with this song. 🤘🏼✌🏼
Totally agree
The Undisputed King of Tone!
-Eric Johnson has entered the chat- ;)
I think he lost it once he moved on from the Laney amps. :(
Mmm, Gilmore.
one of the best live performances of all
Yes!
250,000 views?!!!! This should have 250,000,000 views. It’s a shame the world is missing out on this guy....... what a player, just damn......
The views went to Kanye west lol, funny and sad at the same time.....
Then you should stop being late at the party. The first popular post of this clip has over 3 million views..
The original video is the Ibanez 90th anniversary, also ft. Steva Vai, Simon Phillips and Paul Gilbert..
DAMN RIGHT!
But lady gaga goes Untz untz iii
underrated he is..
Seen this clip hundreds of times, possibly the most intense ever rendition of one of the most beautiful instrumentals ever, brings tears to my eyes, still every single time.
Song of my life.
Yeah!!!
This is without a doubt the most gut wrenching electric guitar performance to date. It can get no better. This version of Andy’s, Cry for You , is the electric guitar bible. It’s the human soul , exposed in every aspect………….God bless Andy
He felt everything, and so do i
Master Simon Phillips on drums ! 🥁🙌🏽
Talent of Simon Phillips as a drummer do perfectly matches beautiful melody of Andy Timmons. Guys on the base and keyboard are the top notch as well.
Simon gets around a bit, right?
His drums sound great in this video!
This guitar performance should be taught not only in every music school but also in regular schools just to show to the students what music can offer and what a human being, like Andy, can have in his pure soul
wtf legit mindblowing. The emotion, the composition, the performance, the hair... everything is perfect
This song should be named "Cry While Listening". It evokes so many emotions.
Jesus!!!!! a door was opened here to somewhere else. Astounding emotional playing.
The good old days, when i was just a kid and the world was such a peaceful place to be in
Tell me about it. so am I. We are going from happy to sad day everyday.
I mean.. This man deserves more recognition..He gave his soul on this!
I'm pretty much speechless here. I used to be obsessed with this song and never saw this, not only is this song an absolute masterpiece, but this performance right here is a masterpiece in itself. A timeless moment right here, with so many powerful moments in it. Just legendary.
He's riding the wave of the moment.
Pure magic.
Absolutely freaking brilliant...
For me that’s the most emotional performance I have seen in my life, even at this time I haven’t seen a performance like this
I'm literally out of breath after watching him play. Best live performance I have ever seen.
No words wow.....Over 40 years playing guitar and experience from thousands of appearances and sessions wow ...... Gary would be proud of you ...
This song was played at my grandpa’s memorial. Even people that have never heard this song before could feel it.
2 Years later and I still have goose bumps from this, wow.
Ibanez 90th Anniversary live concert in 1997 (with Paul Gilbert & Steve Vai)!!! 23 years ago!!!!!!
Like it was filmed yesterday... 🙏
The entire band doing a great job
Yes!!!!!
I think this song must have better batery/orkestra performance. Because they dont touch timmons performance.
Andy really is the ultimate guitarist. Absolutely perfect tone, feel and technique, it can't get any better than this!!
exactly
In this song he really makes his guitar cry for someone i can feel it... Master of Masters!
The guitar is crying for him🙃
This is "the" emotional guitar.period.
Go to Dhalif Ali for emotional guitar instrumentals
I have never heard a more touching piece
One of the best instrumental rock ballads ever played on guitar !!!!!!!
My favourite Andy Timmons song...can listen to this for hours!
I still get chills every time I listen to this.
i almost quit playing guitar but everytime i listen to andy its like an addiction it makes me crave more learning new things about guitar playing...tone ,phrasing, creating tension between chord changes this guy is everything....
he was on top of the world on that night! every guitar heroes watching below him!
Andy is in a league of own outstanding skill
Still love this song after almost 20 years, especially love watching this live performance, how he always playing with so much emotion, and you can tell he's really feeling those notes he played, and it makes you feeling it too.. he only care about music he plays and not acting like a cool guitar god on stage. such pure expression from a musician is not something you can easily find in other guitarists
20 years? I must be living under a rock. I just came across this two days ago? And..........WOW!!!!
Two words:
Gary Moore.
On the other hand,
This guy (Timmons) slipped passed me to my great chagrin. Absolutely brilliant.
@@gauloiseguy Gary is fckn Awesome!
The most melodic player.
Every note so crispy
Andy went to a nother dimension and came back.
Explain for us how it was like Andy?
And Andy says ...
- its imposible for me to explain it with words, but give me a guitar and i show you!
80s music is the best, and 80s Guitar is the very best of the best!
Very few people in the world can let their spirit shine so freely. This is just so soulful. A masterpiece was made this evening for sure. God bless you Andy
The best perfomances Andy Timmons Guitar experience
Played from the soul❤
One of the fewest record that i listen with same hype since my childhood (I'm 30 next week btw)
This is more contagious than Covid-19...
More dangerous
Generally, this is one of the best guitar pieces ever. NOT the only one. But one of them, absolutely.
killer tone
One of the best instrumental song.
Sometimes an artist gets a glimpse of the divine and in that moment channels it to their playing. Andy can do no wrong here, whatever he plays on a whim will be gold.
The crystallization of virtuosity and excessive performance dynamic, genius.
I can't see people engaging in creating more music like this. This world is dying, unfortunately.
великолепный гитарист.невероятно красивая композиция. браво,маэстро !
The best performance ever. Simon Philips, Ibanez, Laney...a perfect moment that lead to a "spiritual" play...Flawlessly
Ian Dias precisely!!
BEST PERFORMSNCE
PERFECT 👌👌👌👌👌👍
tears in my eyes for these good old day
They never make these kind of melody no more ... no more
Conozco a Steve Vay y Satriani desde hace mas de 25 años y hoy es la primera vez que escucho a este hombre. Si los dos anteriores son dioses, él también merece estar en el Olimpo.
Such a brilliant composition...and brilliantly performed..so much of emotion and communication in his guitar 👏🙌🙏
Only one word for this.
Not fame not flashy
HEART that Is what he channeled through the strings that day.
One of my favorites!!👏👏👏
This is the best guitar performance in my heart.
love this forever.
I watched the 480p video for YEARS
Thank you for the full HD version ♥
What a Tone! .. - Your Music Heals My Soul!!! .. Thank You Andy! .. 👏
When You make some masterpiece like this, You become immortal.
The video which introduced me to the melodic guitar god....Andy timmons... thanks for this video...
Most beautiful guitar ever
Phrasing and tone in it's purest form
I started to breathe after the song... One of the best songs I have had the pleasure to meet in my life.
This is the song and video that introduced me to Andy Timmons music. If it wasn't for CZcams suggesting it one day a few years ago I may not have been aware of him.
Still my favorite song of his and I tried learning it but it's incredibly hard. Life long fan now!
Very emotional song, give uraelf to emotion amd the techs of the song you will beat it
It's the Saint You tube!!!!
Holy Shit.. Speechless.. Everytime I watch this..what a beautiful story musically and emotionally!!
no words ...one of the best guitarrists in this f@@king world
My guitar teacher showed me this video when I was starting some advanced lessons with him. After this video, I learned three things:
1.- It's possible to become one with your guitar and go into full beast mode when you love what you're doing and you play for passion, not for a living.
2.- Andy Timmons became to me, in that very moment, one of my absolute references to rock instrumental guitar.
3.- When you learn how to tell a story with your guitar, lyrics are not needed.
This is the BEST instrumental ballad I've heard in my whole life. Thank you Andy!!!!
Love the authenticity in style and emotion, and fluidity. Definitely one of my greatest guitarists!
Simon Phillips never lets down! Always great.
Zo lekker over de top als in de jaren 70 tig waar alles nog kon !
Every time i listen to this song i fly, this is the most beautiful thing i've ever heard
I’m exhausted. Amazing!
master piece legendary excellence !! Such feeling and emotion coming through captivating you wow
I just saw Andy at a local guitar clinic last week. Only 30 people in the place. He played this song with same emotion then as he did in this video. The guy is always on fire….
Only 30?
So sad...
Wonderful musician. Super emotional. He is able to put his outstanding technique in second place to his music. The incredible thing is that I play guitar since the 90s and I only discovered Andy Timmons this year. Shame on me :-). I'm going to listen to all his discography for sure.
Best version of this song I`ve ever seen, The whole concert is awesome !!!!
One of the finest examples of guitar work ever recorded. Utterly superb.
Looked to buy this DVD on your site. Couldn't find a UK version. Is this not available for DVD Region 2?
Apparently the dvd is region free people. Confirmed by the man himself via email. Mine is winging it's way to me as we speak.
DIVINE!
I'm crying here. This song made me travel for all the good and bad situation in my life in few minutes. Show!!!!!
What a performance! I have to say I like the addition of the keys on this. So much color added to my favorite players melodic and strong playing.
Nobody will ever be able to imitate your wonderful touch, my dear friend and champion!Thank You very much for all You transmit me with tour music
Insane for that classic years.
i'm just in love with this song...
The most heart to fingers performance of all time... guitar instrumental ballad of the highest kind... composed and played to PERFECTION!
Hats off Andy... you already have left something magical behind for generations to come.. I wish we all could say the same!
Heard this for the first time just now.
Straight to the heart.
Words don't even start to describe it.
Andy Timmons and one of the best solos of all time.
