I'm almost 49. I was 12 the 1st time hearing purple rain, one night on our little transistor dial radio 📻, before bed,.. The lights were off. I still remember being 'taken to another place' by the song... I literally told my wife tonight, "one of the only proofs I have for Gd's existence, is that purple rain was recorded"...

What a genius Prince was for writing this. Probably the most melodic, powerful and awe inspiring solo ever played. Prince would love this cover.
Prince did not write this. He took the rhythm and the sound created by Friedman, who learned from a Japanese masterpiece, and wrote some relics to it. All musicians take one another style and incorporate into their own.

'Purple rain' is one such tapestry. Jack added his beautiful strings of color and depth in a heartfelt way for many generations.
