  • Come explore the interesting city of Derinkuyu in Turkey
The Underground City is a collection of rock-cut chambers and tunnels, carved out of the rock beneath Erciyes Dagi Mountain in Kayseri Province, Turkey. The city is located about 40 meters below surface level and is approximately 4 kilometers long.
The Underground City was discovered by accident in 1958 when a local man named Halet Çambel stumbled across the entrance while looking for new pastures for his cows.
It was built by Christians during the Byzantine era to escape persecution from the Roman Empire.
In this documentary, viewers will learn about the history of this underground city and how it became one of the world's most important archaeological sites. They will also be shown what has been uncovered at Derinkuyu so far and what still remains to be discovered.

Turkey are made of christian lands of Armenia and Greek. The Turkish people were invaders from Turkmenistan area. After conquering Byzantium christians, they do islamization by forcing jizya, took over or destroyed 2000 churches and took the people as slaves. Wars are never good.
Armenian genocide happened because the turks were afraid Armenians wanted to declare independence. All major tourist attractions in Turkey now were Christians sites. Hagia Sophia, Konstantinopel, Cappadocia, Derinkuyu, Ephesus, Symrna (Izmir now), etc. Hopefully they took care of them.

@@dermotmccorkell663 The history is probably always off because it's always one sided but aside from this it is puzzling to me how scholars so conveniently skip over the consequences of lack of sunlight. Why is it for example that to this day white people do not need the same amount of sun exposure as a dark person would to absorb the same amount of vitamin D? Why do we not find any frozen white people past 12,000 years ago? How exactly is it that Cheddar man from 12,000 years ago is a dark man but has living relatives today in the same area he was found frozen that are white? I suggest it is because the people that originally built these underground refuges from the UK to the edge of the ice sheets south to Italy and beyond were all dark skinned when they went into their refuges. The lack of vitamin D and the need to gain it from what they ate as well as perhaps sharing space with other hominids that introduced genes that were not there before brought RH negative blood, blond and red hair, blue and green eyes and whiter skin color! The only other hominid to have RH negative blood is Cro-Magnon. Interestingly enough white people all came from this area that was once covered in ice. So what happpens when a dark people go into underground bunkers and have to stay there for prolonged periods of time? What changed the people from this area of the world to exhibit different blood, different skin color as well as eye and hair? All of these things are known mutations in the human genome. So what sparked it if not the underground living? What other plausible theory covers it all this well? Give me just one!
