China Adoption: Naomi's 6 Month Update

- Naomi has been home with our family for over 6 months now since we adopted her from China. After many requests, we decided to give an update with how she's doing. We show some of her "firsts", her first time sledding, first Halloween, first Thanksgiving, first Christmas, and even our family's First Chinese New Year party. Naomi is learning the language quickly and seems to be settling in just fine. She is a joy to our family and we are so grateful she is with us. We LOVE her!
"this is your house, no more changes", that sentence makes me cry many times. thank you for giving naomi a complete home. you americans help a lot of chinese orphans, thank you.
Me too this sentence have a lot of meaning OMG 😢
Why do chinese often leave thier own un attended i wonder really..
Ronby Sanlacwa theres videos on that. It is so sad, and I never blame the mother, bc the situation in other countries is extremely difficult and different from America.
Ronby Sanlacwa Because there are lots of families prefer boys than girls, but there are still many Chinese families waiting for adopting babies. And I heard it’s a very difficult process.
Chinese always can cry many time when others do a good thing, but they won't do it themselves.
Can we talk about the brothers? They are the most protective and sweet big brothers I've ever seen 🥺🥺💕💕
I know right!

I love themmmm ❤❤😢❤❤😍
WE NEED A UPDATE ON HER AFTER 4 YEARS PLEASEEEEEEE
I’m a Chinese adoptee adopted by a white, Canadian family back in 1999 and watching your little Chinese New Year party made me emotional. Being of colour in a white home and in a predominantly white community was complex growing up, but it also enriched my identity in so many ways too. I love how you encourage her to be proud of who she is and where she is from. She is surrounded by so much love. She is truly home.
I have always thought of Chinese and Japanese as white or tan ,I am white English I have friends in China and Japan, hope you are ok and happy 😊
@drag0nfly_girl Hey thanks for your comment. Personally, I do identify as someone of colour. It is something that my family and I use openly and lovingly. In fact my mother is keenly aware of this and we have had many conversations as jewish people about the ways I have felt within predominantly white, jewish spaces, both positive and negative. I am a person who is visually of a different race than my family. That brings with it it’s own joys and challenges. To ignore that fact is to erase the experiences I have and will continue to have as someone who is a different race than those I often travel with. Everyone is colourful and moves through life on their own path. But it is not a bad thing to identify the ways in which we are different! I would also add that I don’t feel at all that I am excluding myself from my home or my family when I use this language in this context. Of course, when I talk about my family, I don’t say my white family. They are simply my family. But in the context of my comment, which is directly addressing the embracing of culture, it’s important to identify that my family is white, and that I was culturally brought up as “white”, and that I am profoundly touched when “white” families like my own go out of their way to incorporate their child’s culture as a way of showing their love.

when will you show be so loyal to CCP? and provide some military secrets to the Chinese government. you backstabbing Chinese.
@@jennybassam5515 hey! Just so yk, having white skin doesn't make u white racially. Chinese and Japanese people are Asian which makes them people of color.
I would love to see another update!!

It's so beautiful that you embrace Naomi's heritage (and continue to do so) and use it to educate your boys about another culture. I think it is easy for a child who is adopted by foreigners to lose touch with their heritage. The fact that you are teaching her Chinese is just beautiful. Naomi is a lucky child who has the best of both worlds.
Would love to see an update!
She is lucky to be part of your loving and caring family.
She is blessed🙏🏼✝️
Such a loving family 💕
They r the lucky ones xxxxxx
As I watched her adoption video and then this one I was thinking of how lucky Naomi is.
Then I realized I had it backwards, Naomi is simply finally getting the loving family that she deserves, your family was lucky to have searched for and found such a wonderful treasure.
Many prayers and loving vibes to the entire Lewis family.
It's four years since you post this video. Hope you guys are living a happy life. Thank you for giving Naomi a complete home and a lot of love. She is an angel to comfort many ordinary people in this complex world including me.

This beautiful little girl is very lucky and blessed, but ofcourse DESERVING of a family like the one she now has. One which celebrates her heritage, while still making sure that she knows that she is no different from those around her.

As an adopted child from China, I love that you and your family are continuing to educate her on her heritage. I remember my mother doing the same for my sister and I and it's something I cherise. Also, please continue to teach her Chinese, that is one thing I wished my mother would have continued to do for me when I was little as I plan to travel to China one day and would love to be able to speak it. She's a beautiful child as are all of your children. I wish you and your family the best!
Thank you! We hope to continue to teach her Chinese and we want to learn along with her too. Definitely a difficult language to learn. haha
Molly: Be grateful for what your Mom DID do for you
@@summerdawn6777 Urging great care in telling others what they "should be" grateful for: It's a rare occasion, indeed, when the curt words of a stranger changes anyone's behavior or soul for the better. 😂🙏
P.S. Molly remarked that she cherished something her mother did, so perhaps you can assume that the one thing she wished had happened wasn't necessarily criticism. ⛩️🐼

I really love how you put a lot of effort into teaching her Chinese words. You were even taking care to pronounce the tones, that shows how much you truly care ❤️
Thank you - Chinese is a difficult language to learn but we are sure trying. :)

I really love that you kept her Chinese name it's beautiful!
I thought chinese always use a Western and their chineese names.. And i never thought that you can change the Name.either
Naomi is adorable
Her name is so beautiful, Qiu (Autumn) Ya(Grace). So sweet your boys holding her up to the hays
We love it too. : ) So pretty. And yes, her brothers are so good with her. Thanks!
Many people in China see her new life and how she grows up. We all thank your family bring naomi kindness since she didn't receive much love firstly. What her brother says(no more changes) is so sweet!
It’s so sweet that you put a lots of efforts to teach her Chinese cultures. May God bless your family.
I'm amazed how young kids can learn a language so quickly...6 months in the US and she is already speaking fluent English....kids are so lucky. Anyway I love that you are embracing her heritage and are learning Chinese together. I think it's so important for children adopted from overseas to not lose that, and even better if the family joins in as well.
Awwwww when your son said "Up there is where you get Naomi???" Haha so cute.
It's amazing how fast kids pick up a new language.
Naomi's smile is so bright
I am a Chinese and I love the all the things in this video!!! Naomi looks so happy and she changed a lot!!! she's in love💗💗
How fortunate for Naomi she found a wonderful family to belong to. Looks like your family and Naomi have been blessed.
Love your family.
Your sons are SUCH good big brothers! They make me proud with how well the take care of her and make sure that she's happy! You're truly raising real gentlemen!
I am a Chinese. Really appreciate that you can adopt Naomi and give her a fully love family also still spread the China culture and language to Naomi. Really like your video and hope you can keep update the latest situation for Naomi I love it.
I'm an Asian, but you celebrate more Chinese New Year than I'm. I grew up to see all the Chinese red papers all over the houses in my country, but my house never decorate with these types of papers. Even my parents celebrate Chinese New Year every year. I celebrated 3 New Years in America: Chinese, American and SouthEast Asian. Every Chinese New Year, I got a red envelope from my born Chinese uncle who immigrated to my country when he was young. But, I admired you and your family who make your daughter feel at home by celebrating her New Year and eat Chinese food. She will remember you for the rest of her life. I hope to see her growing up with success and respect tour her parents and elders as Asian culture does. I had 3 kids born in the US and so far they listen and follow my advise. Two in college and one in middle school. As a parent, we only want to see our kids grow and be a good and successful persons. We, then, are happy.
Cried when dad said “no more changes”. Glad that she can still experience her original culture. Omg and hotpot!!! You are kind people! It’s the luckiest thing for the unfortunate past 👍
"Up there is where you get Naomi?" 😆 The brothers are lovely. Naomi is adorable 😍
this is what im talking about when they say one should be rich in and out, literally. Shes blessed.

Hi, I’m a Chinese from Hong Kong and I’m really happy for Naomi. She will have a very bright future with your family. Watching your videos I can see Naomi has a big change. She looks very happy and her three nice looking and good manners brothers have done a very good job taking care of her. The way your family appreciates and adopts the values and traditions of the Chinese culture is very impressive. The hot pot, the tradition food, the red envelopes, the hanging signs, the pictures, and the atmosphere.......... really good. The way you teach Naomi those Chinese flash cards is also impressive. You are teaching her not to forget her original language. And you speak good Mandarin too. You guys are a wonderful family. Thank you for having such a heart in giving Naomi a family.
As a Chinese American, I’m so touched by how loving and caring your family is. My eyes teared up so many times seeing the way you love her. Also the fact that you are celebrating the Chinese culture is so important and precious for her. So much respect for your family, this video made my day.

Naomi is so beautiful! She’s growing up so fast. Your 3 boys are so wonderful and amazing! They love her and care for their new sister. You have a wonder God given family! More blessings to your wonderful family!
I also love how you’re taking so much effort to keep her culture alive by teaching her the Chinese language when so many families who adopt from China unfortunately do not let their child’s culture flourish - God bless ❤️❤️
