Sitting In Style: Recaro Seat Install - 1971 Porsche 911

In this episode of Ted Takes It Apart I will be showing you how we installed these incredible Recaro Classics LX seats into a 1971 Porsche 911 T.
These seats are a great modern option to a period sport seat. Recaro manufactured the original sport seats for Porsche and that same design ideology is carried over into these throwback seats. These seats are covered in a very fine genuine leather and have great side bolstering.
I can't recommend these seats enough! Not to mention they cost whole lot less than original Porsche sport seats of this vintage.

Thanks for sharing, great video and the seats look great. How much additional head room did you gain with these seats vs the original?

Hard to say exactly how much headroom was gained (mostly because I didn’t happen to measure). What I can say is that the stock seats and these Recaro ls are both mounted about as close to the floor as you can get. That being said I don’t think this model is intended for max headroom. I think if head clearance is a much for you, something more like a traditional bucket seat with mounting brackets on the sides of the seat may be the best route.

Hey Ammar! The Sierra Madre Collection sells the brackets for the lower seat belt mounts. They are intended for 1965-1973 911s and 1965-1969 912s. I believe Recaro supplied the base and sliders.
