I’m going to redo the seals in my 84 CJ-7 and after watching a few other videos I was just about to buy a new one and avoid all the hassle but your video gave me confidence to try to do it myself. Thanks!

How's she goin'? It's great to rebuild parts and pieces for a rig, but if you're not sure or just plain don't know, do what you did and go to the expert!!! Nice call and a good job done!! Take care!!

That is a great video man. I have never rebuilt a steering box before either. I laughed when the snap ring went flying as I can't count the amount of times that has happened to me. lol. Not sure but they may make a redy sleeve to repair that worn shaft?

The problem is that the reman's are usually junk. It is the same as a Chevy box, and it took me 4 from Napa to get one good one when I tried to replace mine. I always try and reseal mine from now on if I can get away with it. Turns out to be a lot less work for me in the long run.

Interesting video. I can honestly say that I've never rebuilt one either, I've always gone new or to the junkyard. I could see that clip flying across the room two minutes before it happened lol There really isn't that much to them though, is there? I had no idea that was how to take the slack out though

He didn't take any metal off with the emery cloth 😂 literally just removing the rest of the loctite from the outer edge of the seal that's left on the housing. Cmon buddy, just say you've never worked on a vehicle.
