    Why is it that reviewers of PC criticise PC's that need two hands to open them. To me that says they have a STRONG durable hing assembly.

    • @marcmiyamoto

      Michael Gordon there is a technology that makes the hinge loose at the start but firmer later on tech reviewers Want pc makers to incorporate the new but more expensive technology. Hope this helps!

      this is due to macbook arguably being the reference of good design of a laptop, where we can open the lid of a macbook with one hand. the thing is most laptop PC has battery located at the back area, making it uneven in weight distribution.

    Just bought a used one after first getting acquainted with this laptop at work. They had me using it while they repaired a laptop with a larger touch screen but I kept the 7470 even after it was repaired because I liked it so much. Plus, it has a menu button! Why are they phasing these out?! I didn't realize how much I used that menu button until I bought a laptop without one. You need to use it in conjunction with the Function key but I'll take that over no Menu button at all. A few things I would change about this Dell (and hopefully they did make these changes with the newer models): 1. put the connections (USB ports, power cord port) on the side! Nobody wants to reach around to the back of the laptop just to connect something. 2. I would like a separate number keypad. No good reason, I just would. 3. What is the point of placing any light indicators off to the side? Put them on top. I want one for my Caps Lock (which this has and it's on top!), the power indicator, and every other lighted indicator. There is one to indicate when the microphone is on, apparently. I love that it has separate keys for Page Up/Down. I love the lit keyboard and I love even more that you have the option of turning the lit keyboard off! Options are awesome. Also, I don't know if this was emphasized enough in the video, but this is a pretty small laptop. Works for me but something to keep in mind. I know this a comment on a pretty old laptop but good models deserve a long life.

    soo I work at Dell and I sell this laptop as well as all things Dell, I just want to clarify some things. What makes this more expensive is the fact that its commercial grade. It is build to last, it is tested thoroughly for durability. Also when Dell sells this direct to businesses it is sold with heavy discounts. Warranty is optional from 1year basic to 5 year pro support. Decent review but the primary expense and purpose of this computer was missed completely. If you want a powerful Dell laptop for personal use buy the XPS for around $1,500, that is what is made for.

      If your computer got BitLocker policy from Active Directory (AD) then you need to ask the AD admin. If you did it without AD, windows would have prompted you to print out the key or save the recovery key on a file.

    Quite a poor review. Two examples: you gave only subjective impressions of the screen, rather than quantitative data. You also described the conditions under which you tested the battery, but didn't say to what brightness you set the screen.
    I think your production values are good, which makes the video nice to watch. But the review itself is shallow.

    Worst audio recording quality EVER. I wasn't surprised when the "universal" combo mic/headphone jack was terrible for recording, but I thought at least USB mics would be OK, or if not, then XLR mics with a USB interface. No!!! If anything they are even worse than the "universal" jack. Every recording is ruined by internal noise -- roaring and hissing. And if I use Camtasia to record the screen, everything drags to a standstill. This one doesn't have the top specs, but with Core i5 and 8 Gigs of RAM I expect way, way better. I can't say the thing is good for nothing, and I "get" that it's for business -- but my job does include recording some trainings for customers, so, again: If you need to record sound, at all, even occasionally -- stay far, FAR away from this thing!!!

      You would be even more disappointed if you tried to use it for any extended period. I haven't extensively used a Lenovo, but I did play with an X1 Carbon and T460s for a while, and their build quality and keyboard were in a totally different universe. Assuming their reliability and support is also better (and it can't possibly be worse than "none"), they must be a much better choice.

      R you saying that t460s is a lot better device than this one. I am asking because I am trying to decide between the two. dell's has better battery life and reviews say it's running cooler and quieter. I can get it a lot cheaper than r460s

    • @ActuallyWacky
      @ActuallyWacky Před 8 lety
