    I actually love this laptop, I tried one out for a bit and loved it so I got one. A few things I've learned: 1) The matte film on the LCD screen peels right off, so you can get a glossy 1080P screen even though it's not offered. 2) The ports on the back are AMAZING when using this computer as a desktop replacement. 3) The Warranty is awesome ( 3 years )). 4) Get the big battery,

    Still running this bad boy in 2024 as my daily trading laptop and it's still running three screens and executing trades like it's brand new.

    Excellent review and informative. I'm likely getting this laptop in the coming days as an upgrade from my HP EliteBook from 4 years ago. Look forward to using it and seeing if it meets all my needs. Keep up the great work!

    Hi TechGearGuy,
    Pls I'm considering buying this Dell Latitude E7470, same config but with a 512ssd as oppose to the Dell Precision 7520 workstation purely based on price. Would you advise I go ahead or go for the Precision if I can raise the difference? Thanks

      Hi Isaac. This will really come down to what type of work you will performing with the laptop. If it's nothing special, then I'd go with this here. The Precision Workstations are all right but never impress me that much unless I have specific applications that can take advantage of.

    He didn’t specifically say but does this have a backlit keyboard. I saw it light up when he touched the joystick but not the keys. Does the keyboard light way typed on? Or... how can one keep it lit? This may seem like a stupid question but I’m looking at buying this and the place is closed to ask for a few days. I don’t wanna miss it but don’t want an annoying surprise.

      Mollie Stratton yes, it does come with it. But make sure the one that you get comes with it

    Compared to the Thinkpad t470, what would be your choice and why?

    • @GhostRiderGGG
      @GhostRiderGGG Před 7 lety

      T470. Simply better built. The keyboard on the Latitude is solid but when side-by-side compared to T470, it feels ever so slightly and I mean slightly mushy. But I would also say you can't go wrong either or.

      Hi Muhammad. Unfortunately I have not had a chance to test drive the new Envy 15 yet so I really wouldn't be able to tell you a good comparative advice.

      Is XPS better than latitude 7000 series?

    • @TechGearGuy
      @TechGearGuy  Před 6 lety +1

      This is a tough question than it appears to be, and my answer would be somewhat close to how I usually answer in terms of "is A better than B" questions. It will really depend on what you are looking for in terms of "better". The LCD is "better" on XPS but some prefer matte non-glossy LCD on Latitudes. In my opinion, the thinner bezel on XPS is also "better" in terms of dimensions and appearance. I personally don't think one keyboard is "better" than the other. While Latitude 7000 series isn't fat by any imagination, the ultra slim dimensions of XPS is "better" in terms of portability. You do get more ports whatnot off of Latitudes, thus versatility is "better" on Latitude 7000s. So that may sound like I'm skirting around not really answering your question, one isn't better than the other since what each person looks for is different. That said, if you ask me to pick one when pricing/config being the same between the two, I'd roll XPS.
