It has now been 30 years since NBC newscaster Jessica Savitch's untimely death. She served in several important roles at NBC News, particularly as Capitol Hill correspondent and weekend anchor of Today. A pioneer for women in broadcasting, Savitch led by example and proved that a woman could anchor an entire edition of a nationally televised newscast. Here we see her as a guest of NBC, being interviewed by Bryant Gumbel about her book Anchorwoman, and sharing her insight into the role of women and minorities in broadcasting.

No offense to her. She was a beautiful lady. But I can't believe she was only in her thirties here!
