Only difference is that this is a broken sternum, chiropractors only release the air between your joints. Pretty much the same as when you crack your knuckles
@@greenleavesofsummer9673 I'll fix! I only do necks tho, payment is up front, and you have to sign a waiver releaving me of any and all responsibilities for the results
This was soo helpful. Thank you ❤️. I brined the turkey overnight, rinsed, flattened and sprinked with a seasonings and baking powder mix. Its gonna be fire and ill have time to bake my desserts!
Take it a step further and separate the individual pieces from each other so that you can control exactly what temperature your white meat gets to and what temp your dark meat gets to. Dark meat needs to cook much, much longer and reach an internal temp of 180-190° Fahrenheit. If the white meat gets that hot, it'll be horribly dry. That's why you separate the meat types to control that variable.
A nice step to add to this is doing it the night before and injecting it with your preferred butter based injection. Makes it literally fall off the bone tender and sooooo juicy.
A little tip- I always take off my watch when doing this type of cooking (bear handed, with raw meat), it keeps you watch clean and the cooking more hygienic
You should pull it off way before it hits 180. It should be 165 at fully cooked, residual heat cooks the rest as it's resting. It should be pulled out around 155-160.
I guess I'm just to old school. I want my bird just like my grandparents and parents cooked it and how I'm teaching my kids to cook it. I've never had a dry or undercooked bird so I prefer to not fix what isn't broken. 🤷♀️
Pull when the breast meat hits 155. It will continue to rise to 165 after you remove it from the oven. 170 will lead to dry meat. Also, brine and season.
I appreciate it cause turkeys was on sale after Thanksgiving, and part of my turkey I will be make homemade soup.,thanks 4 sharing.i,m not going 2 cook a whole turkey, that's a short cut 4 me ,thanks a million.
Put aromantics in the tray below with a liquid beer would work and please season the turkey also but a compound butter under the skin also inject the turkey with flavor or brine or marinade it
Everybody, please do not cook your turkey breast to 170, cook it to 150. Anyways when you spatchcock a average size bird, the breast will generally reach 150 at the same time the thighs reach 175 or so
1 part of the experience of cooking the turkey is the time it takes and how it looks when you take it out! If I took out a turkey that looked like roadkill like this every one would laugh lol and 2 that cracking feeling when you broke the ribs is what it feels like if your doing cpr correctly! 😵
You know you can "reassemble" the turkey after its cooked so it looks less flat. And so what if someone laughs at you for using a legitimate faster and more even method of cooking. Different isn't bad.
Pull out the Turkey when the thickest part of the thigh registers at 175 and the breast at 160. Allow the Turkey to rest 30 minutes. Turkey will not be dry.
Keep going with the problem solving I'm half a hundred and I'm still going to lifetime of problems to deal with and I need your help. 📡👽🇺🇸 RUN!!! Stay good.

Sounds like those chiropractor videos 😂
I hate how I find this comment relatable 🤣

Don't forget to save the turkey spine for soup or roasting!
Or yummy gravy

Ok
You’re not invited over for dinner
Bro didn’t season it😭😭
It looks like it was seasoned later (the fully cooked turkey has seasonings on it)

As a black man, I have never been more disappointed in this channel
I’m sure he’s jus doing this to show you. I doubt he’s going to eat the turkey💀

Put some Dan-O’s on it! Now that’s “Dantastic”!
Yo i saw seasoning qhen he cooked it fully
He knows how to season food. Watch his other vids... We're sure he did that _before_ putting it in.
Ya don’t know till ya Dan-O!
He put the seasoning off camara
It’s a good idea to season it as well..my god brother!
Exactly 💯❗
You know, I really enjoy your diversity of content. From cleaning to cooking, this helps out a lot. Thanks.

Bro to all my people who ate unseasoned turkey I’m praying for u and your family for having to endure that
why did I get dizzy when the camera flipped around😭

Damn I need someone to crack my back like that
He was just demonstrating a damn technique not making tday dinner. And maybe he seasoned it after. Sheesh.
We're is da Fahkin Seasoning bro😭!?
Ayo no seasonings 🥲
That's what imm saying
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I think there is when he cooked it fully it looks seasoned
The video after has seasonings
Gotta love dry flavorless turkey
Yeah I wondered why he didn't season the turkey.
Meat on its own is flavorless and it is very expensive, it is vulnerable to spoiling and it can carry disease causing microbes. Why buy it?
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@balbarith45 he did, you just couldn’t see it until the last few seconds

Spatchcock has always been my favorite word in the English language. In Italian, my favorite word is cucchiaio for spoon.
That turkey is getting more action than 87% of his audience.
Is that a insult?
I'd pull it before 170°
carry over cooking will continue and it could be dry. Happy Thanksgiving!
Bro the turkey probably thought it was at a chiropractor appointment
I said to myself here is a man who knows how to season, was i wrong🤣

That’s called saying spatchcocking. You can cook many different birds this way. Great way to keep the whole outside crispy.

You gonna season that poor bird or no

Mr. Salt & Mrs. Pepper was needed here
this is one of the many ways that I have cooked turkey in my life.
Super helpful! Best demo of this we've ever seen! Thanks! 😎✌🏼
For everyone saying that he didn't season it: the point of the video is to show you how to reduce the cooking time, not how you should season it.
Imma try this thanks for the advice
That crack was so satisfying lol
also use this method to turn the turkey into a politician
Number one you need to season it, Number Two you have to separate the skin and rub it with butter underneath
Great idea!👍
That carcass was once a living creature lmao
It feels like yesterday I was just watching your videos on “how to reserve left over Halloween candy” time really does fly
Great advise
I love this method but my mom won’t go for it 😂😂
GREAT GOING 👍👌👍 U REALLY KNOW 👏 HOW 2 DO THAT RIGHT DARLING GOD BLESS 🙌

I was seriously waiting for h to season it
It would be nice to have some spice
Seasoning?
Put aromantics in the tray below with a liquid beer would work and please season the turkey also but a compound butter under the skin also inject the turkey with flavor or brine or marinade it
Good job Uncle Tom. Aunt Karen will love this with her spam ham
If you ladle boiling water onto the Turkey after you spatchcock it will tighten the skin up and make it crispy once you cook it.

170 breast meat?
No salted?
No dry brine?
At least with a regular roast I don't need to eat this sawdust for 4 hours instead of 2
the title doesn’t say how to cook a turkey or season a turkey does it ?

The longer the cooking time, the better

Trust me: 157 let it rest to continue cooking half hour to 45 minutes. Internal temp 165 breast.
Cut the wing tips off.
